Pale Shelter

The lift scenes in the video for the single in between Mad World and Pale Shelter - Change - were filmed in the building where my late Father was working at the time

When they first were on TOTP doing Mad World, Roland Orzabals 'hand-jive' was a school hot topic. "Eee did you see him last night on Top of the pops doing that dance?" 🤣

Love this track, class song, probably my favourite Tears for fears song, love Mad World but over the years its been played too much for me, just looking at the album cover its so sad

Wonderful album as was their second album Scenes from the Big Chair. I first saw them at University under a different guise Graduate. @Erimus74 I would thoroughly recommend you get their album up on Spotify. It is remarkably good if not raw.

I can remember hearing the single for the very first time. We stopped the car. It still sounds fantastic.

Funnily enough, I remember it very well because me and a few mates thought he had ripped the movements off from Ken Scott of Wasted Youth.

Wonderful blast from the past. The track Bad Dreams a fantastic little ditty.

Went to see them in Newcastle over the summer. Still superb. They brought out a new album earlier this year called The Tipping Point which I would highly recommend.

Interestingly, the version of Pale Shelter which came out in 1983 and which appeared on The Hurting album was a re-recording. The original version was released a year earlier before Mad World and of course before they became successful.

The Newcastle gig was fab, including Alison Moyet. It was like a trip back to the 80's :)

So glad I went after all these years.

'Pale Shelter' my favourite TfF track. It has a 'hairs on back of neck', John Barry ingredient.

'Head Over Heels' a close 2nd.

'Mad World' reminds me slightly of 'Matthew and Son'.
