I liked Tom’s pre race interview when asked if he thought it was a bit dangerous doing Roubaix and it might affect his pop at the tours.

He just said he wasn’t worried.
They went on to ask if the team were and he said ‘dunno, go an ask them’

Ian Stannard was the DS. He should know better with all his experience. As Jalabert said on the french commentary, it's OK to take a sticky bottle for slightly longer after a mechanical, but not for the driver to accelerate. The car was certainly motoring in the clip I saw with the commissaire just 50 metres behind the car.
