Parking eye cameras

Hate these parking eyes cameras popping up everywhere.

Got done for parking near pets at home in coulby, going into pets at home then my daughter wanted a mcdonald's. Got fined for leaving the area and passed the fence to go to mcdonald's.

Now think I have been fined again, tesco petrol station near the bluebell. Parked up at the side of the shop to get money out. On way back to the car noticed only allowed to park in marked bays. I know its my fault, I have always parked on the side to quickly get cash out. These signs should be more clearer.
Has anyone else been fined recently for "illegal" parking at the bluebell petrol station?

My van was cloned I had 6-7 fines from down south these people don’t care and just want your money . Took me a while to get sorted

They got me in Leeds years back - I was picking son up from the train station around 23:15 and went in to the car park, stopped to check if his train was on time and drove straight out - 3 mins I was there and they tried to say I'd been there 13 minutes in a max 10 minute stay. I got a company on line to fight them off cost me £15 for what they wanted £75 reduced to £50 if I paid in 14 days or some such nonsense. It is a massive scam and should be outlawed.

is it a council run car park, if not it is an invoice and not a fine.
Yes technically they can ask for the money or even take you to court but to do so is more trouble than it is worth for them.
I got my be from the car park in Morrisons in Redcar, I had been in the shop but popped elsewhere also, I was 10 minutes late.
They kept sending me letters in unstamped envelopes.
When they eventually sent me a stamped envelope saying they had being to get in contact
I just said I haven’t got a clue what you are talking about no letters have come to me
They since left me alone *

*watch me get a court letter now 😂

I'm currently living in the bluebell and see people parking at the side on the chevrons in the petrol station. 5m away there are boat loads of spaces at the back of the building, so no real excuse. So a 10 second walk

My wife waited outside while my daughter popped in to the shop that Pets at Home in Coulby, total time was four minutes, the invoice was sent because they weren't parked in a marked bay. I contested the case with Parking Group Ltd, but they almost immediately knocked it back, they then informed me that I should take this to an independent company, in this case POPLA. I'm currently waiting the outcome. Apparently this particular car park was targeted because the delivery drivers for McDonald's are parking their cars while waiting for orders. Sadly, this may reflect on the shops, such as Pers at Home.

That's not good advice. They will take you to court and the law after the Beavis case, is on their side.

Use a service like this for a smaller fee and get the ticket quashed.

Edit * other option is to read and learn the relevant defences and DIY but who's got the time for that?

And this is what p1ses me off. Beavis won the court case but Parking Eye appealed and it went to the HIgh Court .
The court ruled in favour of PE by 4-1. When asked by the press how they had come to their decision they replied that Beavis's barristers had challenged under the wrong section of the legislation. If he had challenged under a different section he would have won.
I cannot remember the details now but I do remember at the time thinking that Beavis had been mugged.
I also remember seeing how much money the parking companies donated to the tory party

I've parked at the side of Tesco at the bluebell on many occasions and never been fined. There are always cars parked there so I'm not sure if that car park is actively monitored despite the signage, unless it has changed recently. I hope it hasn't as I parked there only yesterday.

The thing about this is, are we expected to get out of our cars to look for signage? Then by the time we have found the signage. read the terms and conditions and decide that we do not agree with them so decide to leave the carpark are we liable to pay a charge?
I once drove into a small carpark, there were no spaces so drove straight back out. I did not even stop. I got the letter for £40. I walked back to the car park to look at he signage. There was a sign in the middle of the car park stating that "Entry to this car park is subject to charges"- then gives the hourly charge.
So I was charged just for entering the car park

Make no mistake, they don't want you to read the t&c and they have no interest in playing fair. They are cowboys and snakes. The issue is they have the law now on their side and thus you shouldn't ignore

Appeals from people who know what they are doing have a huge success rate because the private parking firms are largely giving a nod to their own responsibilities rather than fulfilling them properly, including the need to have signage that's appropriate

And the delivery drivers that don't park here pull up on the verge on Stainton Way.

The ******* are trying to fine me for not registering for a car park at a hotel I was staying in. I’m trying to appeal it but suspect I’ll have to pay.

I got done by one of the ones where you have to enter your reg when you pay. I was in my wife's car and entered my reg which didn't match the one on the camera. I had paid though and fortunately still had my ticket.
I got a court letter which I replied to stating what my expenses for attending court would be if they lost and also detailing 2 previous cases a judge had thrown out stating that £100 fine for a typing error was disproportionate and not what the legislation was intended for. I then got a letter saying they'd stopped the case.

Depending on the parking company some offer a £20 admin fee when there's been a keying error to put the matter to bed

Always check the signage on private land and the timer starts as soon as you drive onto their land not from when you obtain a ticket

the timer starts as soon as you drive onto their land not from when you obtain a titicket.
Surely this depends on their machines. If they tie the ANPR entry to the ticket machine and the machine charges you from when you entered (or ypu pay on the way out) then fair enough, but usually the expiry time on the ticket is the time you purchased the ticket plus the time paid for.
