Yes, I’m still ***ed off about Saturday and yes there are problems with the squad. We’re not in a great place at the moment but **** me, remember how bad we’ve been in recent history? When we had the likes of George Savile clogging up our midfield? The Strachan tenure? The Woodgate tenure? Pulis bore-ball? When we had Rudy Gestede up front?

It has been far worse than this. The problem is last season it was far better, but the league is so much harder this year.

If we manage to win at Preston we’re still in a very positive position. And considering the start we had, the injuries we’ve had to contend with and the overhaul we had in the summer, it’s not a bad position to be in.

I also follow Coleraine and they’ve won 2 games in the last 15. It could always be worse 😂

It’s still all to play for.

With hindsight the cup run was a distraction we didn’t really need, but I will stress that’s only with hindsight.

The outlook at the moment isn’t great but we’ve seen this season as much as any other that things/form can change very dramatically and very quickly.

A lot of fans are determined to classify these kind of seasons as “over” but the reality is we will probably be in with a chance, mathematically speaking, until about April.

Loads of games left and all to play for. If we don’t get anywhere, so what? We’ll have another crack next year. At least it’s one more year without VAR.

I’m pretty convinced we won’t find anyone more suited to the task than Carrick so I’d be happy to stick with him whatever happens now. See where we are next summer when he’s out of contract.

Remember how good we've been in recent history. This time a year ago we were (arguably) the best team in the championship. Now we're comparing ourselves to our worst seasons. The sudden, sharp drop in quality is tough to stomach.

Please stop, you’re ruining my misery 😬

In the world of the blind the one eyed man is king. Those still carrying hope and believing we are a good side that is well managed need to open their eyes and see what the rest of us are looking at every game. Massively over cautious approach on bringing players back after injury. Never seen a club bench players for months for every injury - we must be either the unluckiest club in the world or the most cautious - I suspect the latter. Poor team selection, rudderless tactics, zero leadership, no passion, negative Prosaic football. Not interested in our play months ago - what is important is now. No system, no plan, no pace, missed signing a forward when everyone knew it was critical to our success we brought someone in is unforgivable - no excuses. Season over before we lose to Preston and Leicester this week.

The perspective is we are a pretty average team. I would say really poor in comparison to the team who finished last season and that wasn't good enough. Not sure how many loans we had last season compared with the number of loans this season but it can't be too much different. But the quality is like chalk and cheese. We are limping towards the end of the season unless something major happens. In the close season we need almost a rebuild almost on the scale of last season but with far better quality.

I like to think I’m normally a glass half full guy. I really like Carrick and hope he’s here for years. You won’t often find me criticising Gibson, without who we wouldn’t have a club. Our recruitment is definitely improving. We’re a club I’m proud to support.

I wasn’t expecting promotion this year, or even the playoffs. Our league position isn’t too far from what I was expecting.

The frustration is the stupid preventable mistakes. Things like not signing a striker (when we’ve got none). Playing our best midfielder out of position. Everyone sees these things except the people who matter.

If we lose to teams who are simply better than us, I’ll always accept that. I trust the club to generally keep improving things. But currently we’re losing because of our own stupidity and that’s something that’s hard not to be critical of.

There has been stupidity at the club this season. Take the left back situation.
We gave a new contract to a player who'd had two unsuccessful seasons out on loan. We then sold an established player thinking that a player we'd taken on loan previously would sign for us permanently. Said player did not sign for us. We buy a left back. We don't like the look of our new left back so we buy another one. We send out on loan the guy we gave the new contract to. The player we signed because we didn't like the look of the first player we signed gets injured. We take another player on loan.

If only we could have been so active in the centre forward department 🤷‍♂️

We’ve beaten you twice in the last couple of months and you’ve been our bogey side for years!

Up da reds!

We've all spotted poor decisions and poor performances, you don't need to be a professional expert do to that.

But what do we 'gain' from writing off the season now, rather than trying to turn our form around? Its not as if our form under Carrick has been totally constant, we've had very good spells and very bad spells.

The 'now' is actually not remotely important. Its the past and the future that are. The past has left us with a LOT of work to do, but we're not quite in miracle territory yet. The future is the bit that counts, not the 'now'.

As I say, still plenty to play for. No one would dispute that its a tall order.

Still reeling from the Sunderland equaliser.. we really needed a bounce back performance against Bristol City and we just weren't at the races. Set up was dreadful.. the championship is TOIGHT and dropping silly points or not turning up is not going to help our cause. Pfft.. the transfer window man.. Ben Johnson & Manuel Benson would have been pure promotion fuel.. instead we've got top knot and and a fat yank.

I have a small amount of hope left. Might be a bit dramatic but I do genuinely feel if we get beat on Wednesday it will have the feel of season over especially with Leicester coming up at the weekend.

Wednesday is a huge game, win that and who knows how that could make us feel. We may even have it in us to go and get a point or 3 at Leicester.

All on Wednesday for me in regards to how I see the rest of the season. I think defeats in the next 2 would require to much of an unrealistic turn around and too many teams to overhaul.

I think Wednesday is must win. Most of the teams in the play off race of winnable matches.

Rotherham v HULL
WBA v Cardiff
Huddersfield v SUNDERLAND
Plymouth v COVENTRY

WATFORD v NORWICH means one of them are likely to take 3 points and obviously if Preston beat us they'd have another 3 points.

If we lose we will likely be 9 points outside the playoffs with 9 teams 8+ points in front of us. It's too much to make up.
Would need to win 11 of our last 15 matches.

As it stands I think we probably need to win 11 of our last 16 matches which obviously looks well beyond us.
