Photography RE: Cameras

Are there any dabblers on here to give me some advice:

I have been given approximately 30-40 cameras of all shapes, sizes and ages. They come with lots of lenses, filters and a couple of tri-pods. A couple of old Russian and German types are in the group also a Yashica Mat!! I have no clue of their worth but the gent said wanted the money to go to charity before he died. RIP old Joe.
Question is: Do I try and get rid as a job lot or as pieces, which would take and age. I suspect there are the odd 1 or 2 worth a little but some a little day use types.

TIA.

I sell 2nd hand SLR cameras for a living pretty much what you have, if you want to PM me and maybe send a few photos I could give you an idea of the value.

There is nothing of any great value I can see . I would also worry why the better cameras thats the Nikon and Olympus dont seem to have lenses. the lens in the 1st photo with the Zebra ( black and white ) focus ring could be nice but I would have to see the front of the lens.
Same for the Pentax next to the Nikon.

If everything was working correctly and there was no issues with the lenses etc you might get 600 quid plus before fees selling on ebay.
But and its a very big but if any of the cameras or lenses are not working correctly as there is nothing of any great value then they would be pretty much worthless.

If you sent those 3 photos asking me to buy them off you untested I would offer you £150 cash. And thats because your a Boro fan if you were from Sunderland I wouldn't go more that £75

If I was you I would contact your local auction house and let them sell them for you.

That is my honest opinion sorry if it may not be what you want to hear.

Thanks for the info fella. The one that caught my eye was the Yashica-Mat That I saw in eBay for £200.
What you see is not all of it as there are plenty of lenses and filters in another box which would another couple of photos full.

Hi I will be honest I dont deal in Yashica cameras as I have always had trouble with them in the past so I keep away now.
If its good then you might get that sort of money but there is lots of things can go wrong.
For £200 the shutter would need to be working correctly the viewfinder clear the lens has no fungus and the light meter working. plus you need to check the seals. as seen its a £50 camera.

Your money will be in the lenses if you want to send me a photo of the lenses I can see if you have anything good but you need to show them from the front without the lens caps.

I'd just wait for eBay to do their 80% off final value fee promos, have everything photographed and written out ready and just put each item up for £1 and let people bid. market determines the price.

I've used this for a lot of things in the past, stuff almost never goes for £1, unless it's worth £1, because people scour the hell out of eBay and have search alerts set up etc

Its not what I would recommend personally.
With Photography equipment people want stuff to use so to get the top prices it generally needs to be checked for faults if its a lens or tested that its working if its a camera.

If you try and blag it and list something as working you are leaving yourself wide open for not as described returns plus the feedback that can go with that.
If you list it as untested then you wont get the top prices as buyers will assume that it has faults.
