To be fair it in an independent legally qualified chair who is in charge of the hearing, completely independent of the police. I’m not sure who decides the sentence mind but as others have alluded to I’d be amazed if there isn’t some sort of appeal from somebody that sees her dismissed. How allowing her to keep her job does anything but destroy any last trust or confidence the public may have left in the force is beyond me.

I agree with this completely. Many many people have been sacked for much less. They have kind of made a rod for their own back now with dishonesty case
 
They've pretty much said she's useless as an operational officer, as the defence would have to be informed in any case she was involved in that she had previously been found guilty of lying under oath. So she'll presumably be given a desk job, that could be done be a "civilian" employee on half the wage, and then she'll still get her pension after 25 years or whatever it is and retire at around 50.

A campaign against this decision should be raised with the local police commissioner.

She really needs to go.

Edit: I am a huge supporter of the British police officer and believe the majority do a great job. It is people like her who bring them a bad name.

Legally there's very little that they can do, it's just posturing to distance themselves from the panels decision.

I mean we have a PCC who had a caution for theft but palmed it off as a learning experience that made him who he is today, yet got elected on a ticket of getting tough on crime. Couldn't make it up!

I saw on a fb group the former conservative group chair in Simon Clarke's area saying that Steve Turner used to be Simon's office manager or something and he pressed for him to get funded for election against all advice. Going from a weasels office manager to a 100k a year police directorial role with that sort of history just stinks

I get what you're saying but there's process that I think should be respected here, with an outcome decided by legally qualified decision makers, based on the evidence presented.

Some of us may disagree with it, but that's the way it is.
