Pre Luton press conference

On a separate note, can somebody ask Carrick whether he considers it a possibility or worry that Luton, and potentially Coventry, pose any threat in terms of risk to our players fitness and well being playing them so close to the play offs. Luton especially given it is seen by many as a potential final?
i.e. the risk to our important forward players being deliberately on the wrong end of a cynical tackle?

I think it's a genuine risk, but I don't think it would go down too well with neutrals and the opposition if our press conference was implying that other teams may try to deliberately crock our players.

Surely if that's the case then Luton & Coventry should be worried about us trying to injure their best players too?

Not really so much as we, imho, are the team everyone will fear and the team most likely to be seen as the biggest danger with our forwards. The final will have VAR, the league games wont. Luton in particular are a strong physical team.

They would say the exact same thing if one of our players nobbled them.

I don't think he'll give much away, but I just hope there are encouraging noises about the injuries.

It's not the end of the world if people are missing on Monday, but missing the play-offs would be a huge blow.

What would you expect him to say if asked that question? There's no way he would go down that path.

‘ the boys have worked hard for us, I’m counting the numbers’

‘ Riley McGree is still having a scan’

‘ yeah he picked up a knock against Preston Dael, we will have to wait and see’

‘Yeah Tommy took a sore one on Friday night, we will see how he is’

‘Marcus has had a couple of knocks recently but that’s football’

‘ I was pleased for Izzy and Anf, because they probably haven’t been my biggest fan in recent weeks but they will all play part for us, I feel like I’m repeating myself’

There you go lads, save you a listen at 2 o’clock

No idea what he would say, thats why i posted. I would be interested in his thoughts and then compare to team selected. It is a concern of mine. I dont see the point of asking questions i know an answer to.

Not sure I see the point of asking questions that you know he's not going to answer !

It would just seem like whoever asked the question was trying to cause trouble or stitch him up.
Which it sounds like you are doing actually if you then want to compare his answer to the team sheet.
If he rests Akpom I don't think it will have a little note on the bottom explaining why.

Right, so as a long standing Boro fan you think I want to stitch him up…. SERIOUSLY?
Righto, if you say so, it must be my main aim. I must be secretly hoping we seriously mess up and get a few injuries then to eh? 🤦🏻

No, I don't believe you would do that.
But if anyone asked that question and then followed it up to check he had answered honestly, it would certainly look that way.
Which is why I think it strange you want others to do it on your behalf.
