Premier League to restart in June (Rumour)

I received below this morning from a friend who I have no reason to distrust. He says he trusts the lad that told him but obviously people can make their mind up on what they want to believe. Could be all made up as far as I know but thought I would share.

"Premier League is back in June. I have a lead from someone who works for a sport travel agency that manages logistics for some top teams (Spurs, City, Wolves, Newcastle. Rangers) The Company has been tasked to arrange hotels and travel for 8 weeks beginning in mid May.

All Premier League teams will play their remaining games at St Georges Park behind closed doors and for TV only. The Complex will host 2/3 games a day that will be streamed live.

The players will go into isolation mid May at select hotels within the vicinity of St George's Park and will train at local club grounds. They will not be able to see family and friends during this period of games and each player will be tested regularly along with hotels being locked down for players only.

This would lead to a 'World Cup' style June with lots of matches played in a short period."

Again, this could be complete rubbish and someone can likely point out logistically how this wouldn't work but just passing on what I have been told.

i think if the lockdown is extended for a further 3 weeks, which it looks likely, then there is not a chance the premier league will start again in june.

Think they will try, but it only takes one player to catch the virus and everything will likely be stopped again

I think they will try everything in their power as money talks but just don't see how it can happen.

I have seen 8th June mentioned somewhere I'm sure. Just put forward as a potential date I believe.
I think July/August is more likely.
I think uefa are a lot more concerned about compromising the next season rather than getting the current one completed.

Wouldn't that mean lockdown (as it is now) might be over by June though. In which case, why not?

I have heard the PL will be completed, again by a very good source, my opinions have been posted on here often enough mind so won't comment other than it will go ahead because the powers that be will make it happen

atypical. lockdown as it is now would be over. as in stay in your homes. but then we would have 3-6 months of gradual lowering of the lockdown on other activities. i for one would love to see the footy back in June

Yeah I agree, but this idea touted above wouldn't necessarily fly in the face of gradual lockdown measures being relaxed periodically would it?

Obviously it would be if the plan was to just carry on with football as normal.

Just sack it FFS, it won't be enjoyable for anyone, it's just about money and it's so disappointing.

Depends on the situation with the lock down, its looking more likely the government will relax things significantly over the next few months, if thats the case then football might as well be played

Not that I agree with relaxing things until its safe, but we all know money is more important than health

They'll have to train in masks, it's ridiculous.
But money, money, money.
If they having to wear masks to train in (obviously branded ones that fans can then spend £30 on) will they be playing in them aswell?
Because that is nigh on impossible.

I read yesterday that they are several PL clubs that want the season to be cancelled due to health fears, players contracts, etc. The same article also mentioned that players are questioning the restart of football and how they can be kept safe.
