Proud ofvthe team tonight

I only saw the second half due to work, but I thought we were very good and I really fancied us with ten minutes to go! The players can hold their heads up tonight. Considering the injuries, it was a very good performance against very good opposition.

But also don’t have the distraction of it now. We were never gonna win two cups, but absolutely no shame at all in this loss and should give us confidence for Tuesday.

yeah get what you are saying, Carrick seems chuffed with performance and all the players will have gained confidence from that and there’s a good feeling within the fan base. Everything’s positive. No further injuries too. All in all a very good night. Roll on Tuesday.

Half fancy us to do them on the night. Not sure it will be enough over the 2 legs but bring it on

Now’s as good a time to play them as any other time since they did the two cup double over us in 97 & 98. Can’t wait.
 
Goal against from a corner again though - that does seem to be a problem for us. It was where Villa had most of their threat all night in fact. We seem to switch off on corners and don’t pick players up. Cash had far too much time to aim before being closed down and by then it was too late to block the shot
