Hi all, here's all the pre-match travel and pub information that you'll need ahead of Saturday's trip to Charlton.

Travel
Please note that the nearest train station to The Valley (Charlton Station) is closed this coming weekend so there'll be no direct trains from Central London to Charlton.

One of the best ways to get to the stadium is to get the DLR from Bank or Tower Gateway (via Tower Hill tube station) to Greenwich DLR Station. From there get either the 177 / 180 bus towards Thamesmead / Thamesmead East from Greenwich High Road Roan Street (Stop H) and then alight at Woolwich Road Gallions Road. The bus from Greenwich to Charlton takes approx 30 minutes.

An alternative way of getting to the stadium is to take the Jubilee Line to North Greenwich Station. From there get either the 161 / 472 / 486 bus from North Greenwich Station (Stop B) and then alight at Charlton Stn Charlton Church Lane. The bus from North Greenwich to Charlton takes approx 20 minutes.

Pubs
Due to renovation works at the usual away pub near the ground there's no recommended away pubs in the Charlton area. In order to get a pre-match pint in we advise going to pubs near Greenwich or North Greenwich.

Greenwich - For those heading into Greenwich we'd recommend The Gate Clock and The Lost Hour. Both of these pubs are near the DLR station and near Greenwich High Road Roan Street (Stop H) from which you can get a bus to Charlton. Both pubs accept children.

If you fancy a pit-stop pint on the way from Greenwich to Charlton then you can hop off the bus at The River Ale House which is conveniently near a bus stop on the 177 / 180 route.

North Greenwich - For those heading into North Greenwich there's always the option of drinks inside the O2, however, we'd most recommend The Pilot which we've visited on previous away days. The pilot accepts children and is a short walk from Millennium Village Oval Square (Stop MC) from which you can get the 161 / 486 to Charlton.
