Championship restarts on the 10th December. The knock out stages of the World Cup start the Saturday before.

What happens if a Championship club has a player still involved? If Australia get out of the group, then Ryley McGree will be still involved. Luton who we play have a Welsh international going. Unlikely in both cases, but possible.

Will we just be expected to get on with it, or will the game be postponed? How many players would need to be still involved to get a game off?

Basically the answer is tough

I’d assume as the league have said in this ruling that fixtures aren’t reliant on fifa players being free.

Sunderland v millwall has been rescheduled for the 3rd December a week before the official re-start

How many championship players are even going to the WC? Did it really need suspending?

When the suspension was first announced, my first reaction was that it was a bit of chest puffing, projecting the high standard of the Championship as a league which is of sufficient quality to provide players at the World Cup.

That game was called off for the late Queens funeral in September, same as our Blackpool away game. They will have played 21 games by the time the Millwall game is over, same as most other Championship teams.
