Questions for Rob @ Friday’s Press Conference

I know Rob struggles at press conferences going last, towing the line, but can we give him some pointers to questions the fans want answered, I’ll start

1. Chris - is there a Plan B?

2. Chris - I know you keep reiterating you don’t think there is anything wrong with the tactics, but surely being 3-0 down inside 30 minutes of 20% of games this season, casts some doubt on that statement

3. Chris - Do you think squad is unbalanced with 5 strikers and only playing 1 ?

4. Chris - I know Brighton is the opposite end of the country, but if you need some help, sure we could organise a whip round for the train fare

Chris - do you think it was wise to build a squad with players who can only play one system? Going into a season without any natural attacking wide men leaves you awfully backed into a corner when your preferred system gets found out

Unfortunately, we all know it will be more like…

“Chris, a disappointing result on Tuesday night, I’m sure you and the players will be looking to put that right against Rotherham?”

or…

”Chris, it hasnt quite been the start you’d hoped for, but I’m sure you’d like to put it right tomorrow night?”

Same old drivel every time.

Not from Rob I might add.

Absolutely right, sadly, since Gibson got bthe Gazette boys banned for daring to ask challenging questions or write negative articles, it’s a tepid environment. The local press’s job is to reflect the fans feelings, they should be making Wilder twitch in his comfy chair, instead of him preaching to a grateful congregation

Chris... Why 'buy' 2 forwards who you clearly don't rate. I'm pretty sure it's the first time he's ever played with one op top. That's pretty damming.

Also this makes a complete mockery and farce of loaning out Coburn. I know he's not fit. Yet clearly a better option in terms of goals per mins than anything else we have.

Wilder is his last presss conference told the reporter that do we play with 2 up top and that McCree is a 10

Maybe he has a different interpretation of what a number 10 is, but nobody would every refer to a number 10 as a striker or 2nd striker
And even if they did, McCree plays far too deep anyway to even be considered a number 10

McCree is incapable of playing as a second striker as he lacks the attributes, hes a central midfielder, Muniz was completely isolated yesterday in that
Horrendous 5-4-1 set up

4 central midfielders is completely over the top, its Pulisesque, McCree needs to play in support of 2 strikers not 1, what is the purpose of all the central midfielders,
i thought i had seen the end of completely unbalanced teams under Pullisball

You can harp on that its not about tactics, its about attitude, but if you have too many players in one area of the pitch and the wingbaks are shut off, our
entire game plan goes out the window

1. Chris, apart from the wingbacks, the team seems to lack pace elsewhere, thus, when we regularly gift possession to the opposition midst transition, leading to the defenders and midfielders often being out of position and therefore susceptible to the oppositions pace as we leave huge gaps in behind, thereby in turn, us then regularly conceding poor lamentable goals, how do you plan to change this?

2. 17 points, across the last 17 games, spread over 2 seasons with a transfer window in between, shows no actual sign of improvement, how worried should we all be?

Chris, what were your expectations for this club when you took over, and what were your expectations at the start of the season.

If the expectation was that by this stage the fans should be happy hovering around relegation zone and going into half time at home 3-0 down and be happy about it, why wasn't this communicated to the fans?

If the expectation wasn't that we should at least challenge for playoffs, why wasn't this communicated to the fans?

Chris

Do you know what the definition of insantiy is?

Trying the same thing over and over again expecting different results

Wingbacks again vs Rotherham, and 4 slow midfielders in support of Muniz then

The problem with the journalists is they won’t ask the questions that the fans want them to ask. They are too scared in case Gibbo bans them from the press conference.
The questions Wilder should be asked are the ones in the OP, make Wilder squirm and embarrass him about being 3-0 down and have a defence who can’t defend, a midfield that are slow and can’t pass a ball more than 5 yards.
Managers are quick to take the praise when they are winning games so should be held accountable when they are losing.
Just once I’d like a manager to say we were **** the system isn’t working and that it was his fault.
Will never happen though, journalists need to grow a pair and ask questions that need answering.

Wilder will pull the xG out the hat from the prior games and just put the Cardiff game down to having a bad day at the office

If he sticks with the wingbacks and 4 central midfielders and we lose vs Rotherham he has to go, there is nothing more harmful to a football club than a manager
who refuses to change personel or tactics when the team fail to perform week in week out

Haha, good luck getting any journalist to ask tough questions

There’s actually a problem with all the questions as they are loaded questions to get the answer you.

For example question 1 should be. Explain to me how you feel about the balance of the squad?

Thats sounds exactly like the softly tone Rob would come out with

I don't think the squad is that limited in terms of system, but not sure we'll ever find out.

That's the sort of thing I'd like to see asked too.

"Chris, you said on Tuesday you don't understand the level of expectation the fans have for Middlesbrough FC. What did you mean by that? What do you think boro fans should expect considering the team finished 7th last season, have the 4th highest average home attendances in the division, 4th highest average away support, have the 4th highest transfer spend in the division in the summer just gone?"

Chris, you’ve won 4 of your last 19 games, that’s relegation form. Do you expect to keep your job past Rotherham?
