RAAC in school

Anyone got any experience of this? My kids go to St Leonard’s in Durham and their handling of the whole situation is nothing short of shambolic. Virtually no information from the trust, school or DfE with them, the government and the council all blaming each other for the slow to non existent progress.
Just wondering what the educational offer is in other schools affected. My kids have had four weeks of mostly online learning and if they have been in school, which has been one or two days per week, they’ve been taught as a whole year group. My oldest, in year 10, did a mock essay the other day and did the whole thing on a clipboard.

Apparently as surveyors have been round Leonard's they've established that parts can be used safely and kids are being taught onsite and there should be news confirmed this week that they are splitting the school in two & will be teaching over two sites. Aiming for 9th but my understanding is all will be being taught in person from 16th.

tbh you can't spring a "building unsafe" notice on an organisation & expect them to have a fully functioning alternative operating within a few days, I do feel as though the school are innocent parties in this espcially as they (and Fram) were next for the school building programme & then it got cancelled. DfE, Trust & Council less so.

Informative post.

That’s really interesting. Would love to know where you’ve got that information from (meant in the nicest possible way) as we’ve had nothing like this communicated from the school. So thanks for sharing!
