OK if you'll lend me the money. If you believe that, I've a bridge for sale.

For 13 years, I would expect it all be done. Its really down to a question of resource rather than time.Because it requires some significant engineering work and the numbers involved I guess but yes quicker would be better. The 75% is for those near protected nature sites. It's 100% for bathing areas.
Smoke and mirrors; no real action.Well I guess it's either factual or it isn't. See my other post on expenditure on improvements.
No way am I defending them just pointing out that it seems the issue has been acknowledged and action taken.
I was walking from Redcar to Saltburn late June and Saltburn was packed with tourists. Will these same people return if the sea is of a very poor quality? There have been plenty at Saltburn beach this week and it was wonderful there. Packed with tourists from all over not just Teesside.
But the raw sewage is a national scandal, no argument with that.
Saltburn is infamous for it's regular sewage dumping. Tourists and NWL pretend it isn't happening.I was walking from Redcar to Saltburn late June and Saltburn was packed with tourists. Will these same people return if the sea is of a very poor quality?
I know it’s not a local issue, but it is locals of all areas that need to apply pressure on these water companies.
Investigation launched after water pollution spotted in North Sea
The 'slick' is said to be 10-metre wide and has been reported to the Environment Agencywww.gazettelive.co.uk

I think he was interviewed on TV the other day. Surfers Against Sewage have complained for years. This is not a new scandal. One of my students, his dad run the surf school and was always complaining about it.
It certainly isn’t new, but the levels of sewage is increasing.I think he was interviewed on TV the other day. Surfers Against Sewage have complained for years. This is not a new scandal.
Funding was withdrawn it was only ever going to go one way. There may be more important things to be concerned about, but a lot of work was put into cleaning up our rivers and coastline, it won't take much to turn them in to cesspits again. It certainly isn’t new, but the levels of sewage is increasing.
My son works for an electrical company and they have the contract for the local water board. He’s been mentioning that levels are increasing for some time.
Isn't that probably because tobemorey is on the isle of mull, an island with a population of just over 2000 rather than so where like saltburn which gets 2 million tourists a year and has 3 times the population of the entire Isle of Mull, as well as being down / up from many larger towns and just south of where the tees kicks out. Genuinely shocked that the water quality there would be better. The water is clearer here when you look at it. You can see the bottom when at the end of the harbour in tober morey
I don't know the reason why, but bare in mind Mull gets a shed load of tourists too, I couldn't find the number I don't even know where water treatment is controlled from, whether scotland set their own budget. Not read the article you posted yet, but I will do.Isn't that probably because tobemorey is on the isle of mull, an island with a population of just over 2000 rather than so where like saltburn which gets 2 million tourists a year and has 3 times the population of the entire Isle of Mull, as well as being down / up from many larger towns and just south of where the tees kicks out. Scottish water is ejecting sewerage out as well
You'll never guess what the SNP did after Scottish Water pumped raw sewage into rivers 10,000 times – Alex Cole-Hamilton
I used to think river pollution was something from a bygone era. I imagined the dark satanic mills of the Industrial Revolution or the open sewers of previous centuries spewing poison into our rivers had been consigned firmly to the past.www.edinburghnews.scotsman.com
This article says they only Monitor 3% of the network too so may be a lot more...
Entire Isle of Mull gets 600k a year so just over a quarter of what the town of saltburn gets and willing to bet no equivalent of the tees just up from themI don't know the reason why, but bare in mind Mull gets a shed load of tourists too, I couldn't find the number I don't even know where water treatment is controlled from, whether scotland set their own budget. I was making sure you didn't mean you could physically see sewage etc in the sea! That was concerning me!The water is clearer here when you look at it. You can see the bottom when at the end of the harbour in tober morey
They reckon you can see sewage off the North East coast.I was making sure you didn't mean you could physically see sewage etc in the sea! That was concerning me!
Ofwat is failing in this regard no?Not necessarily as the companies are regulated and Ofwat has a duty to balance customer interests with the need to ensure the sector can finance the cost of delivering the water and sewage services.
It's unlikely the whole cost will be passed on to customers.
Don't understand your question ST.Ofwat is failing in this regard no?
