Reacher - Amazon Prime

New series, based on the Killing Floor book.

Reacher is actually played by a six foot five bloke, not the Tom Cruise midget. Bit younger than the book, bit more believable. Although he does seem to enjoy the violence a little too much.

Anyway, first three episodes are good, following the book nicely.

Is he also very scruffy, carries his toothbrush in his shirt pocket and only changes his undies when he buys a new pair? 🤣

Sorry missed this thread

Really enjoying these, much closer to the books. The lead is a bit younger and prettier than my mental image of Reacher but everything else is spot on. Cinematography, sound design, fight sequences, etc. I enjoyed the Tom Cruise films but he is not Reacher. I'm on Episode 6 and will probably finish the rest tonight or tomorrow,

Recommended for anyone hankering for some good old fashioned bone crunchin' crime bustin'.

Nearly fell out with a mate who loaned me a Jack Reacher book thinking I'd like it.
Why would you fall out with anyone over lending you a book. Sensitive types eh, you or your mate?

It was a joke, but I should have known his taste was poor when he couldn't get into the Jo Nesbo books I'd give him.

Think the tagline for the Jack Reacher books should have warned me what to expect "men want to be him, women want to be with him..."

Dear me, like a mills and boon for blokes!

Ah a snob thing. OK each to their own. I've read both and Reacher is just page turning pulp. Nothing wrong with it.

Its switch off your brain book, I enjoy them when I want to wind down. Its still a step up from watching reality TV.

I've seen first 3 episodes. Big fan of the books.

I reckon the Tom Cruise films are better as they are darker and grittier which is what I think this series is lacking. A mate of mine described the series as CSI with Reacher in it. He's not the best actor but looks the part and the fight scenes are decent.

That all said, I am enjoying it and will stick with it. Easy TV!

If you enjoy them, good for you, at least you read which seems a dying pastime. Not my cup of tea is all.

I'm back to reading Michael Connolly Bosch books, having not read one for over a decade so lots to catch up. Haven't seen the Amazon shows, anyone know if they any good.

The Killing Floor is the only Lee Childs' book I've read I think.

It was only about 7 years ago, but it's obvious I'm 60 years old now, as the plot only started coming back to me in ep6.

I'll watch the last 2 episodes tomorrow.

One extreme to the other with Cruise the midget and the new guy a roid munching monster.
Pretty inoffensive TV and almost immediately forgettable.
Not something I'd ever watch again.

When my wife asked when did I film for the lead role , as I was slumped on the settee with a bag of crisps….I’m not sure if she was taking the **** or not 🤔
