our current stadium announcer is doing absolutely nothing wrong at all.
our most prominent and long standing announcer is quite another story.

If anyone is in contact with our stadium announcer, please ask him to stop playing steel river… don’t think we’ve won since he started

These things are all announced because many fans like it - the same as the music - by request. People have different ideas on how they would like to build up an event like a Boro match. The Swansea announcer also told us when the players were in the tunnel. Aston Villa has a giant on screen count down that counts down hours, minutes and seconds to kick off before an NASA style final countdown.

I dont mind the 15 Minutes to kick of stuff, but 'steel river' kills the atmosphere for me, when it starts.

I absolutely deplore the modern day shrieking matchday announcer.
I don't buy into stuff like the Americans do...which is exactly what they are aping
Roaring and whooping like a fourth rate Michael Buffer, is to me utterly embarrassing.

I had a thread deleted by Admin on that very subject. I believe though he has stopped that since the Cup game. That's a great improvement IMO.
