You say football finances are crazy but you yourself can afford 6 matches a month. You are defending Gibson but you’re the first to criticise away prices. Not knocking you for that, but people like you, and a slightly lesser extent me, are easy pickings for football clubs.
The whole sport is getting more and more (and more) expensive, but so are lots of things in society in general.
The main gripe people have, I think, is that we now seem to be the most expensive club in the league, just as we’re about to embark on our 8th consecutive season in the second tier, for the first time in 50 years. The club is at a big crossroads in my opinion, a sort of watershed moment of sorts.
“Walkouts” could well just be the start of something, and I think Gibson knows that, hence why he’s trying to put the fire out before Saturday.
