Retained list is out

In addition, the loans of Cameron Archer, Ryan Giles, Alex Mowatt, Rodrigo Muniz, Aaron Ramsey and Zack Steffen have all come to an end.
What a fcuking joke. The loan system needs to be binned. Is no-one else sick of the EFL being a PL training league?

To me you need a squad of 25 players for the Championship plus youngsters - its a big slog.

No surprise with the released players.

To me to get the best quality for the budget we have, its necesaary to dip into the the loan market a bit. Most of our loans were successful this season for the players and clubs involved, which will make it easier to do it again. To get the likes of Giles, Archer, Ramsay, Steffan for around £20k a week is value. Howeve it should be blending with some outright purchases and developing our own young players. We also should also be on the look out for rejected youngsters as Spence was. Picked up for nothing and after 3 years development work at least £12.5m in the bank.

I dunno about changing someone in a way where they would be good enough to play out from the back, at Champo and probably prem level too. If you aren't used to doing that by 16-18 then it's going to be tough.

Steffen's probably a better outfield player than Northern League level, and you aint coaching someone to that level when they're 22. It would be hard enough to coach a League 2 keeper who is already good at playing out from the back.
Jason Steele is a shining example of how goalkeepers can be coached to play a certain way regardless of their age.

Who say the way his season has turned out coming based on the last 10 years?

Does he play in any particular way? I can't remember what he was like before but thought his kicking was quite good anyway, long-range, not sure what he was like at sucking in a press and playing balls in-between and over strikers etc, as we never did it. Maybe he was already good at that, but our style didn't need it.

I know Brighton try and play football, but not watched them enough to know what impact Steele has on that.

Sanchez was dropped and Steele was brought in basically because he can play out from the back (a la Steffen)

You opened a thread which was clearly about the retained list. Which suggests that you were interested in the retained list. You then questioned why people are interested in the retained list.
I open loads of threads, even ones which don’t interest me, sometimes I open boring seeming threads based on the user who posted, and you often only discover how uninteresting you are after opening the thread, but that’s besides the point.

The point your making just doesn’t stand up, sorry amigo

No problem hombre. It just seemed a bit unnecessary to open a thread and then have a dig at people interested in the thread subject. Which is how it appeared.

I can't imagine he was already good at that when it wasn't something any teams really played up until Pep and Klopp came into the country, he might have been 'confident' in his kicking ability but way the role has changed over the last 6-7 years or so is so big that he would still need to have been coached to be able to play it.
