I never said he’d go to spurs I said Postecoglou clearly rates him and he knows his system if you know anything about Postecoglou that’s his key factor he likes players that get his methods. Riley clearly does.

"McGree was someone I had an interest in because of my association with him and obviously I know the player pretty well," said Postecoglou.

"But after initial discussions he has decided to look elsewhere, which is fine."

Postecoglou has long been a fan of McGree, calling him up to the Socceroos squad back in March 2017.

Let’s not forget when we signed him Celtic were in for him as they were managed by his former national manager, who btw is now managing spurs.

Riley would be an excellent player for Spurs IMO, if that where to happen, I hope not though!

Well that should be the last we see of that then. Keeping our 'Giles solution' pinned back (and remember he's been touted as a player with similar success to Giles) in order to free up Silvera looks a questionable tactic at best. And if it's also keeping McGree out it's ludicrous.

Engel wasn’t pinned back, he was playing to orders, Carrick said he did not want him bombing forward due to the pace of their wide men. I suspect thats why he chose Silvera over McGree as he hoped Silvera would be the attacking threat due to his pace.

I said beforehand I was disappointed McGree was not on in front of Silvera as Engel should offer the pace overlapping on the left. I thought Carrick made the wrong call and so it proved, easy to say, I know, as we have no way of knowing how it would have turned out the other way.

Hey ho, it is what it is, Rogers was best of the new boys, they are all a bit raw still and lack nous and composure. I wish we’d stop trying to roll the ball into the net rather than give the ball a little lift (Archer style) had we done so, Hackney and Lath would have scored and we’d have won the game. I think it will come and we will get better.

To be honest, I am more worried by the soft goals we keep leaking through questionable defending.
