Riley McGree

I don't recall a crunching tackle on Bangura or Latte Lath, being on the "training pitch", unless we've started training at the Riverside.
That's a myth.
hackney got fouled for his injury to. jones, bangura, smith, mcgree, lenny, paddy, dijk and fry all had tendon injuries off the top of my head. lath was an ankle after a dodgy tackle mcgree have a bad heel. i dont think its a myth or a coincidence. we might not be hearing about the little niggles players have that we dont really hear about, like engel has now. if the medical team think there is a surface issue, then its likely is that, rather than something someone just made up.

I’d love him to stay but in a way I wouldn’t want him to if it means losing him for nowt next May.
He apparently came to us to find a path to the prem, that’s why he said no to Celtic.

With the injuries he had last year, he didn’t get to showcase himself for a prem move. I’d be very surprised if any prem side offered us money for him. So his options seem a parallel move, a move abroad (possibly meaning the end of his prem hopes) or stay here. To stay he’ll need to commit to that year extension, or he’ll get that parallel move which doesn’t always work out

I suppose we could offer a contract with a release fee for a PL club?

Now obviously we'd want the fee to be as high as possible, and he'd want the fee as low as possible, so some compromise would be needed.

I'd think we'd be negotiating around the £8-10 million range. That's more than we'd get if we sold him this summer, and it would only ever be activated if he was playing very well, so I see it as a win for us

It’s now a hybrid surface (half artificial / half grass) to replicate the Riverside.
I didn’t know The Riverside was part artificial, no wonder there are so many injuries. Although it would be interesting to know if opposing teams pick up injuries at The Riverside.

Who cares about money, I’d rather have him another 12 months than a few million. We have made enough recently and he may be the difference between championship money and a premier league windfall.
Letting players run their contracts down, rather than selling for a fee, isn't sustainable at all.

Bringing in money for McGree would pay for a player to replace him over 3/4 years.

I get why clubs cash in, as frustrating as it can be for fans.

he was pushed in the back and tweaked his hamstring. hardley an assault. it was a strange one, jones must have violin strings for hamstrings if that's how easy it is to pull one.
Yes fair comment that I was exaggerating it was a bit of a freak injury and Hughill will not have intended to injure Isaiah but the point is that he was out for a good few games injured by an opposition player during a match and it was nothing to do with the training pitch.

I would rather keep him though than sell him for less than he’s worth.
