Something rather apt about the day we lost Nichelle. A significant day all round. She was the first black actress to play a significant authority figure on mainstream TV breaking a glass ceiling for black women. RIP Lieutenant.

Great actress, and sang with Duke Ellington before ST I've read somewhere. The Original Series was just fantastic for us sci-fi fans of a certain age - her character and Spock interplay was brilliant. RIP.
