Rishi Sunak reckons...

I would also disagree. Also is he under the impression that there's lots of jobs to pick and choose from?

I could see it the other way round, people not happy about returning to their offices. Sounds like he's desperate to get people back in to the office for the lunchtime economy and the fuel duty!!!

Having wfh for the entire year, I am not desperate to return to the office fulI time, but a couple of days a week would be sufficent and am busy convicing my boss that this would be a much more efficient way to work.

Most people where I work are desperate to get back to the office in some form, but absolutely no one wants to go back to how it was. I can see some form of days in / out rota being the way forward.

It depends on your situation. I live on my own, and it is nice to be in the office for the camaraderie and company. I am a team player and get much motivation and creativity being with others.
I struggle to maintain focus when working from home.
In other circumstances, yes I would work from home some of the time.

I've been looking at changing jobs and working from home would be an absolute essential for me now.

I wouldn't entertain being in a office full-time.

Saying that if I was single or living with people I didn't really get on with, it would be a different story.

I think the vast majority will not return to the office full time. Maybe 1 or 2 days a week but not full time.

I work for a big local Employer and we are currently looking at refurbishing our offices and basing the design on 50% capacity at any one time.

Rishi more concerned with his commercial property owning mates than the workers themselves.

Barely anyone wants to go back 5 days a week but barely anyone wants full time home either.

I've seen literally 15-20 linked in polls all come out with the vast majority (75% plus) wanting 2 or 3 days office a week.

That in itself will of course be very bad for London and retail in general.

Without sounding chewy, can I ask how working from home would be essential now?

I’m the same was full time in the office before COVID, now I would return a couple of days a week when permitted, half the team work from home anyway, so can’t see any pressure to return.
