Still the best Ronaldo for me. What a talent! Some of the stuff he was capable of is on a different level, even to Messi.
Because he put some timber on and became a bit of a chubster, as well as coming before C Ronaldo and Messi, younger fans don’t realise that this guy was every bit as good as them, if not better. He just didn’t have the longevity.

As much as Mourinho is a knob, I think he was right when he made that 'the real Ronaldo' comment years ago. Ronaldo was an unbelievable player for PSV and Barca.

Christiano Ronaldo has undoubtedly done it consistently for longer, and has incredible stats.
But in terms of pure skill and talent, Fat Ronaldo is superior in my opinion.

a truely unstoppable player, in his prime., like viduka with close control and strength but with blistering pace. Mbappe is probably the closest to him in playing style, but even at 17 he was much much better than mbappe is now.

The best Ronaldo full stop, the way he moved with the ball, pace, could finish with two feet and with his head, an extraordinary player, even when he was past it at Real Madrid was still ripping teams apart and scoring for fun. Other Ronaldo also world class but not in Ronaldo's league.

I think he had the most ability of any player I've ever seen (and actually used it), and that year at Barcelona was the best any striker has ever played the game, he was just complete, incredible.

I see it like Messi and CR7 peaked at like 97/100, and did that for like >10 years, but Ronaldo at Barcelona (and inter too probably) was 99/100, and he'd have kept that going if he didn't have his injuries and hypothyroidism.

I'd also factor that Ronaldo was playing at a time where teams were more defensive/ physical and there were a hell of a lot of good defenders around.

There’s only 2 players I never watched in the flesh that I regret, Ronaldinho and Ronaldo.

These are the two best i’ve watched on tv. C. Ronaldo & Messi are great players but for my Ronaldo was No1 in the world. Could have achieved far more but for injuries and sponsers forcing him to play in that WC final.
