Ryan Giles

I was surprised Wolves let him out on loan but yesterday probably shows why. Premier league quality in the final third but defensively and tracking back needs a fair amount of work. Hopefully that will improve through the season.
 
Giles will certainly be a weapon delivering those crosses in this season, but someone is going to have to cover the left with him to stop us being overran like we were at times yesterday. I actually think we are going to be very effective away from home this season with Jones and Giles both quick with good delivery - think we’ll catch a few teams out on the break with these two pinging balls in

Akpom had a very good 1st half too, as good as anyone in the half, his cobtrol, movement was good, long may it continue

Last time I saw a debut where someone boshed so many crosses into the box was downing. On the right we fanny on all day looking for a yard for the cross. On the left Giles doesn't need a yard bosh! Cross whipped in. Some people didn't like mcgree yesterday. I thought he worked well with Giles. Needs to keep a cooler head for the final ball though.

They did but that wasn't just down to Giles, I'd say McGree was just as culpable if not more so. Gave the ball away cheaply in bad places a couple of times which left us exposed. Bola also doesn't provide the same safety net that Dijksteel does.

Hopefully fairly easy fixes from a tactical perspective. When we were set defensively we looked really solid, it was getting caught out on the break that caused the problems.
 
He's going to be absolutely superb for us this season. Yesterday really did show that we need a proper left hand side though. A genuine LCB who knows the position and a solid midfielder who can drop in when Giles is going forward and we'll be immense. You have to forgive him leaving us a bit open at the back when he's going to be creating so many chances for us up top.
 
I am delighted we have got Giles for the season. I hoped he'd be as good as I saw yesterday. High quality wide play and delivery into the box.
We just need to recruit the two starting centre forwards now.
Gyokeres plus eityher Armstrong of Muniz on loan.

I agree we need a LCB and two good midfielders. We lost our way for half of the second half.
Good Goalkeeper at last, makes a big difference.
