Saltburn lift on fire

Maybe they upped the speed to 1.5mph and have found that creates too much friction therefore heat and smoke . Last time I went on that the Bank holiday was finished and over by the time it got to the bottom.

Just enjoy the ride. It's not meant to be Alton Towers mate. ;)

Seriously though - lets hope this isn't too much of a set back. The lifts had been closed for a week for annual maintenance - which begs a question. But let's hope that there is no serious damage. It is an important attraction for Saltburn and Teesside and would be so sad if it was closed for a length of time.

I went to Zagreb before Christmas and did a walking tour. The tour guide very proudly announced their funicular was the shortest in the world. I really ***ed on her bonfire when I double checked the stats on our own funicular, and informed her that Saltburn’s took that claim.
I love Saltburn funicular, me.
