Second Test - India v England

I think Root got it right in his post match. The game was an education. This Test was much more typical of how India v England Tests in India usually end up than the first one. We have also seen in England that it is difficult to perform well in two back to back tests and the home side is often under prepared in the first Test of a series. In this case England had been able to prepare in Sri Lanka, while India were on the back of their success in Australia. I'm looking forward to the next two, with hopefully both sides at their best we may see a close game.

Day / night next time so Anderson should have a field day and spinners neutralised in the dewy evening.

India will be panicking a little that the next one is the day/nighter with the pink ball (the last pink ball test they played in India the Indian spinners didn't take a wicket) amd will be doing their best to get the pitch prepared accordingly. World Test Championship latest is India qualify with a 2-1 or 3-1 series win, we qualify with a 3-1 series win and if it finishes any other result somehow the bloody Aussies qualify.

If the pink ball is likely to seam around in evening Indian conditions it might be worth giving Woakes a game, it also improves the batting.

If fit Archer needs to play. We can’t allow Sharma to take the game away from us like he did on the first day. Archer‘s extra pace will unsettle any batsman.

Also see Ali has chosen to miss the last two tests.
