Sheff Wed have gone 'full Pulis'

He is living off more than a "couple of good seasons at Stoke".

He got them promoted, he got them to a FAC final, he kept them up year after year.

He kept Palace up after they were given up for dead and won Manager of the Year Award.

He kept WBA in the top half of Premiership all season in 2016/17.

He's got his limitations and he has appeared in some financial disputes with owners, but he's better than average for getting results.
Someone on here once told me he 'ruined Stoke'. Ha, you couldn't make it up.

They will stay up consistently but sack him in a couple of seasons after they are bored to tears. Rinse and repeat

Just need big Sam to get lined up with a nice destroy and exit and the British Managers Lunch Club are going to have a very happy Christmas.

Where possible I try to be objective and not use subjective terms like "ruined". He left Stoke City in a higher position that when he found them. I seem to remember just below half way in the Premiership instead of lower half Championship. The dropped into trouble under Mark Hughes 4 years after Pulis left.

I agree his style of football is methodical and not pretty to watch, but points per gained against what was expected he does marginally overachieve across his whole career.

It's a funny job football management. Any other business where a manager comes in, makes changes within a few weeks of employment and stabilises a declinning business or indeed improves their position would be lauded.

In football if you don't do it in a pretty fashion you're crucified. But...if you try and do it beautifully and fail you're equally crucified.

His brand of football is not great, but he does what he does fairly consistently and will leave Sheff Wed safe I would think.

What surprised me most was he started Reach and Rhodes last week. Although I note Rhodes was on the bench on Saturday.

What about the way he left Palace? The state he left West Brom and Boro?
