Sheffield Wednesday fans misbehaving again

Impressed by Coventry filling the Leppings Lane today

Those individuals should be easier to identify than the Riverside Pyro holder
 
I was sat in the corner today near where they were giving Palmer abuse, whatever the initial event was that riled the fans up, it was a whole load of nothing, but I know it’s fun sometimes in the crowd to try and wind someone up and boo to put them off.

The amount of comments I was hearing around me about how much of a pr*ck he was but “they can’t say or shout anything because he’s black” was frightening. This was twenty minutes before Palmer got the ref and pointed out whoever was making racist remarks. The ref gave loads Coventry loads of decisions and I know how annoying that can feel but due to how Palmer looks it seemed they were desperate for him to be the focus and scapegoat. It was just a lot of little comments but made me feel quite uncomfortable.

I was a Boro season ticket holder for 30 years and never heard or saw anything like it before.

I live near Hillsborough and my young lad wanted to go for his 7th birthday. He’s grateful for seeing them score for the first time (in the three games he’s been) and hopefully never picked up on the vibe. He is getting a complex that they always seem to lose when he goes. Don’t worry, I’ve told him they’re just a bit crap.

The only excusing factor I can allow the Wednesday fans today is Fletchers performance up front was so terrible they were all pretty wound up before it all happened.
 
Again? I’ve been to Hillsborough numerous times and the fans have been fine, unlike many other grounds, including their neighbours.

Sheff Wed, in my experience, has generally been a great old traditional club and ground to go to.

I hope they give the full weight of the law to the idiots involved in this and they get everything they deserve.

However, as a club, I've for the most part found Sheff Wed to be good hosts, friendly and very little of the idiotic fans who say ridiculous rubbish.

It's a tough balancing act, most fans are top folks who hate the idiocy, ourselves included. Lest we forget it's not actually that long since we had a torn up Qu'ran amongst our ranks amongst a number of other idiots.

Let's not tar all Wednesday fans with the same brush, there are some clubs that seem to have a much bigger than average number of tools following them, just don't think Sheff Wed are one of them.

That said, let's hope they identify those responsible and ban them for life.
 
You both must have been to a different Sheffield Wednesday to me. Not a nice place to go to is Hillsborough. Always groups of idiots around the tram stops looking for trouble talking in that incomprehensible accent they have. Hell hole of an away stand.
It’s a relief to get back into the City Centre where you can have a drink and talk to people you can understand.

No, I'm not saying that.

I'm just saying their mood was foul from 60 minutes of angrily complaining about Fletcher prior to anything happening.

Whether already being annoyed and angry makes their racist comments bubble to the surface quicker I don't know, it's just an observation.

Self awareness not their strong point it seems. Having lived in the city for a number of years it always seemed that Blades attracted this "sort" of supporter and that most Wednesday fans were of fairly sound mind, at least the ones I know.

Think their promotion and recent form has started attracting the intellectually challenged from the outlying villages and towns. Hillsborough itself is actually quite nice (for the North of the city) 😛
