Should I upgrade to Windows 11 ?

My laptop is telling me Windows 11 is there for me to download for free and install. Is it a good idea to do it now, or is it better to wait on a bit.

Any advice welcome.

Oh crap. This laptop could barely cope with Windows 10. Why the hell do they keep having to add more useless rubbish to it? It's fine as it is.

""You do not have to upgrade to Windows 11. We will continue to support Windows 10 until 14 October 2025""

I would advise against upgrading operating systems on the same computer/laptop. It causes all sorts of compatibility issues. I tend to wait about a year after an operating system has been released to iron out all the bugs and give developers time to update their software then if I want the operating system I buy a new laptop/computer.

I would stick with Windows 10 for now as it’s still got many years of support left.

I didn't hold out for long, upgraded when we shipped the 3rd goal on Tuesday night. Just reverted back to Windows 10, the first time I tried my laptop for anything useful/work I discovered that the snipping tool doesn't work.

DOS is still there in the background doing all the hard work behind all this shiny Windows stuff.
