Happy for you. But just saying the match didn't mean a lot. So for me it wasn't as good as when Rhys Williams fell over. You asked for personal highlights. That was one.
Yes that was a good un. Funny how rarely he gets mentioned now, he scored some absolute belters!OK then. Best Boro goal ever.
And the enivatable relegation the following yearYou've missed Lennie's promotion season like....
I completely agree but I can’t help but wonder that if we hadn’t beat them our league form might have recovered sooner without the distraction. It's weird because of how grim things are at the moment but I genuinely believe one of the biggest highlights of the last 18 years happened about 6 weeks ago.
Taken in isolation to beat Chelsea, be ahead in a major cup semi final and experience easily one of the best atmospheres in years felt incredible at the time.
Read some of the threads on here from afterwards, we were all like giddy kids drunk with excitement.
We now look at it with a slightly different perspective obviously!
Things can change very quickly in football.
I never really include that in my best ever games. Wasn't it announced to the Man City players just before kick-off that they weren't renewing Sven's contract and it was his last game? They weren't happy and didn't really put much effort in. Especially when Dunn got sent off early doors. Some cracking goals though. It was, but it was a fairly meaningless game.
Yes exactly. Though of course I do like to remind my City supporting mates of the match. City were a club of similar stature to us at the time.I never really include that in my best ever games.
