So gut feeling - which strikers will we get?

I think CW will want at least one young striker on a permanent, and I think out of the three (Armstrong and Muniz), Forss is the only one "for sale" at an obtainable price.
absolutely agree with this. We have to start to build up the attacking assets at the club. That means buy young, and cheaper and see their value increase.

A player like Forss could be bought for about 3-4m and could triple in value from one good season.

I don't think Riis could be bought for less than 8m, if e sell Tav I'd consider goin for him and a cheaper midfield option. But I don't want to sell Tav.

Armstrong would cost 12m as Southampton will want the majority of the fee back. Muniz would probably cost 9m+ they would only sell if it was a quick profit, because they know he could be worth 15m if he has a good champo season on loan.

Taking all that in, and the small size of our squad and our available money, I think Forss is a no brainer as a permanent. Lower risk, high potential for increase in value, can add quality now, but still leave wiggle room to fill the squad with another 4 or 5 players.

His goal contributions per minute is the stat you want to look at ;) impact sub
At the moment, that is how he has been largely utilised. But when he started games he has a record of 24 goals in the 48 career games he has started in league and cup. He's a goal machine from teh bench or when starting

I suppose the other side of that coin is if they're selling him, and not for the usual bumper fee, they don't think he fits that model.

But I'm open minded about it and we sometimes have to take risks to
avoid fiascos like Britt
He was signed with getting out of the Championship in mind. They've done that and he had a part to play in it. He hasn't quite made the step up to the Premier League (yet), but he's still a kid and we would be getting him based on what he did a couple of years ago. He's a low risk signing with bags of potential, and its clear to see he can finish, which is something we've struggled with for years!

I said it earlier in the thread...
He's my #1 choice.
Low risk, low wages, could be a permanent deal, relatively cheap, 23 year old, possible future international, possible sell on value, and as you said.... "goal machine".

Riis looks good, i just really hope we sign someone permanently, all well and good signing Muniz and Armstrong, then if we go up are either good enough? Even if Armstrong scored 20 goals, would he be good enough in the prem? Im not sure. I think if we have 2 upfront it should be 1 loan, 1 permanent. I don't like the Forest model of loaning players to get promoted, then signing a whole team when you get there.

I agree re Jakobsen at PNE he appears to be going under the radar. I doubt they would sell now so close to season starting we would have to likely pay an additional premium.

I think we need to get promoted first before worrying too much about the composition of the team in the premier league.

Below is the team I hope we end up with once the window shuts.

Four loanees in the side but no reason to think all four of them won't be good enough for the Premier League.

Question marks over Armstrong possibly but Muniz is a young lad who has plenty of time to develop and could become a superstar.

Forss is not a “goal machine”. That is just not true. He has scored 8 Championship goals for Brentford. He hasn’t been a starter for them and has a goal every 188 minutes in the Championship in a team playing very much on the front foot. You can’t extrapolate the goals per minute across a full season, especially when he has not been a starter.
He may well have potential, but we need first choice strikers now, not impact subs.
By all means sign him for a low fee but I’m not sure a low fee is realistic if he has this real potential.
I’d far rather pay more for a player who is simply the best all round centre forward in our league, if we could get him.
Goykeres has done it and some wonder if it was a one off. Strange they’d rather pay a big fee for someone who has never done it.
I remain hopeful that we buy, not just loan, and that one of our buys is one we can expect from, rather than hope.

when he has started he has scored goals at a good rate though, and his xG to Goal ratio was good too. Give him opportunities and it looks like he will get goals. For the fees talked about 4m initial, then it's pretty low risk

I think Coventry will want mega, mega bucks for Gyokores. That’s the problem.

Of course they will and we would in their position.
They may well get over £20m for him if a PL club bid.
But if not they have no chance of getting that.
They are a club who are financially fragile, far from strong. A strong bid would shake their resolve, but that is timing dependent. We just don’t know who else if anybody really really wants him.
Sign Riis now, get Goykeres late and accept that we have to wait for our loan from the Prem til the death too.
All opinions but I really do think we can get him.
