So if we have to sell one player in the summer...

I agree with all of that other than O’Brien is a no for me. He’s ok at best but will demand a good fee and big wages and he hasn’t shown enough to be worth that investment and it’s a sunk investment as he’s unlikely to get another big prem move
O'brien looked an excellent player last night, definitely keep if possible. Barlaser looked good last night in his proper position ie getting forward. I wouldn't be averse to selling Hackney if there was a good offer, don't think we've really missed him of late.

I trust Seny doesnt continue to make errors as he has in the games at Hull and last night so I wouldn't cry over Forss being moved on. Mainly because I feel he's going to spend so much time on the treatment table I fear.

I've seen rumours saying McGree is open to an extension. Think it could go either way.

From a football perspective not sure he'll do much better than us. His fitness record is poor and while he's excellent when he's on it, he's struggled for consistency at times.

If Carrick wants to keep him, sees him as challenging for a first team spot, then McGree might yet see us as his best option. We play a style suited to his strengths and should be up there challenging for promotion next year.

Might be as much down to whether the club want to keep him rather whether he wants to stay.

I hope we don't sell any of our better players. Even with the out of contract players and players leaving after loans finish alongside being a bit light in a few key area's it is still going to be a fairly large rebuild this summer as it is. That's without having to try replace key players who are poached.
We have a good core of players to build something around, if we keep having a huge turnaround of players every summer it will take a month or so for players to settle and possibly even longer if they are coming in from foreign leagues.
With the sales we have made over the last couple of years and with a couple of players out of contract who are on big wages it will hopefully stop the need to sell to balance the books.
That is also the reason I hope we sign Ayling and give Howson a new contract they both have a lot to offer still and it carries on the consistency of the team, it also gives a chance to bring in some "projects" in these positions and give them time to settle in.

Forss is a £8 + million player if he goes, a goalscorer who seems to be getting better.
When we signed him he was a bit part player with potential at Brentford. Now he has proven he can play and score at this level, but to get those kind of fees you need a relegated team to go for him, or a club with a cash windfall. Maybe one of the relegated sides might be interested?! If we can't get that kind of fee, I'd keep him

O'brien average, but on big wages and will cast 2-3m.

Barlaser will never be able to play the Carrick tactics, I'd sell, someone will pay 1-1.5m for him

..then who will it be.
Hayden
Marcus
Seny
Manu LL

I'm not saying we have to but who would be your reluctant choice

Seny for me, and hope that one of the two returning goalies ( Zach and Sol) could slot in, but even then Seny has been the best goalie I have seen for a while , so a very reluctant offload.
None of the above - McGree i could cope with but the rest are vital

You are right but in addition I would teams from the various larger leagues around Europe could come in for him.

possibly, but not sure which leagues would spend that kind of money on a second tier striker from england. There isn't a big history of euro sides spending big on champo players. They probably don't realise the standard here is very high

Read that he wants to go back south ?

I read that McGree has off field issues which may lead to him moving . My favourite player so hope he can sort it .

I'd try and keep Mcgree if he's happy he can pull rabbits out. Has his own goal of the season. If he'd been fit all season we'd have a few more points and would be play offs I reckon.

In answer to the OP, if we have to sell one player in the summer...

Silvera (huge blow that it would be).
Only for full market value of course.

For all of the not wanting to have to make wholesale changes by recruiting a load of loan players last summer, it looks like we're going to have another squad overhaul.

Every player has a price. Rogers is an example of that. It just depends on if an offer too good to refuse arrives, if a player leaves.
Marcus Forss needs to stay in my opinion though. He’s a goalscorer (when fit) and there aren’t many of those to go around.
