I can’t stop thinking about last night - the performance, the atmosphere, the connection between the fans, club and players and I really think we are at the start of something very special.
We are seeing Carrick grow as a coach and manager, the way he has navigated through the awful start to the season, this terrible run of injuries, developed a load of young players and finding a way to win. I think he is loyal and committed to us - to the “project” - no sly digs at recruitment, having the confidence and belief in his players. I’m sure he will go on to manage at the very top level, but I’m hoping we’ll have him leading us for a few more years yet.
We’re seeing some players develop and learn their trade here who will go on to have massive careers. Hackney and VDB - what a pleasure to watch and to think we were the start of their (sure to be) top top careers.
New cult heroes, Engel and ELL come to mind, as well as players who you can see improving every week - Barlaser, Rogers, Bangura. Honestly it feels like we’re on the brink of a new golden period. I’m absolutely buzzing!
