Statement from Clare Butchart

It is with great sadness I announce Sound It Out Records will cease trading from the 31st August 2023.
It has not been an easy decision.

The shop was Tom's baby and his passion of which I am and always will be immensely proud.

Sound It Out Records died with Tom that day. Tom's memory will last forever in your hearts, memories and especially in the music you play.

Thank you all for for patience during this very difficult time.

Oh that's such a shame, a great record shop and Tom was so knowledgeable and helpful. I always called in a couple or three times when back home for visits.

As a ex-record shop owner in the area this is sad news but guess buyers were not forthcoming and it takes a passion for vinyl records to run it and knowledge of the value of the used stock that comes in. Tom had that in bucket loads .....

I think all those who visited the shop will know that Tom was a very knowledgeable guy always willing to help not to mention his store was quite fascinating. Sad day all round.
