South Korea bans Dog Meat trade!

I’m not sure I can see an issue with another country eating dog meat as long as the animal welfare matches that if other domestic food animals 🤷🏼‍♂️ I mean I know I’d not eat it but what’s the difference to them between dogs n sheep?
We do eat mammals and in France and Germany they eat horse, but do we eat other carnivores? I can't think of one off the top of my head.

If you still eat meat and criticise certain community's for eating dog meat then you're a hypocrite.
Man has domesticated and lived with dogs for 1000s of years, the relationship between us is fundamentally different to that of cattle or game. You could even argue genetically as dogs and most domesticated animals have a genetic disposition to being with and acting certain ways to get positive responses from humans. I don't think it is as black and white an issue as you are trying to make it and it is not a hypocritical position to have.

Just to ad to my last point also, much of the campaigning for this law corelates with a sharp rise in dog (as pets) ownership in RSK. It has been that bond between the species that has brought this change in law.

Pigs are smarter than dogs, if intellect was a gauge whether or not someone is killed or not, humans would be on the menu, because some humans are pretty stupid.

It is not a matter of their intelligence, it is the bond between the species. Domestication of wolves goes deep back into pre history when our species was likely still in Africa but certainly when they reached Eurasia. Our evolution is intertwined, dogs only exist because of humans, and they were bread to protect, heard ect and in turn have been essential in the advent of farming, hunting and so on.

The relationship is not the same between humans and cattle/game as it is with dogs.

Clearly never been to a sanctuary and petted pigs or cows

I have, my partner also grew up on a cattle farm that her family still owns in Scotland, I love spending time with cattle when up there especially the young moo's they are great to be around.

Again it is not intelligence, it is not how cute they are, the relationship is just different.

To try and explain it another way.

We domesticated pigs/cos/chickens and we chose to make them a source of food ... going back 1000s of years.

Wolves we domesticated and we chose to selectively breed them to be companions/protectors/pets, this in turn allowed us to hunt more because your offspring would have protection back in your cave, farm better because your dog could help you herd the animals and so on. Our evolution is symbiotic, we literally created them as companions and aides, this for me makes this not a hypocritical stance to take.
