Spooky coincidences

In New York going to a shop almost next to Carnegie Hall crossing at the lights on W57th street. A guy crossing going the other way, we looked at each other, it was a WFT are doing here moment. I turned and went back with him. Last time we seen each was 2 years previously in Warrington of all places. Went and got my stuff from the shop, and then off to the “English Pub” just nearby and spent the afternoon in there.

Went for a game of golf on Sunday My mate took his tee shot on the last hole, he hit it left into the trees we lost sight of the ball but heard that familiar sound of ball on wood.
He took a provisional and again hit it left but shorter this time. When we got to were the 2nd ball had landed the 1st ball was right next to it and actually touching it.

Another one just occurred this second.

Just went onto the BA website to book flights to New York in November, and as I dont have a meeting for a couple of hours decided to switch the radio on. "Alexa play BBC 6 Music", and the song that was literally just starting was Empire State of Mind (the one that goes "In New York, concrete dreams where dreams are made of") by Alicia Keys and Jay Z.

What are the chances of that ?
Good job you weren't going to Newport

I heard this on Talksport a while ago when they were talking about strange coincidences.

A bloke from Essex rang in and said when he was a young kid, he went on holiday with his family to Cornwall. Whilst there, they all went to a fair where he got a helium balloon, a sheep or something. When he was leaving the fair, he let go of the string and it disappeared into the sky. He cried for hours afterwards.

A week later when his holiday finished, he went back to Essex with is family. When he went into the back garden, the balloon was nestled in the tree! Unbelievable.

The presenters wouldn't believe him but he was adamant it was true.

He rang back 15 minutes later. His Dad had rang him, called him an idiot, and said that the lads uncle had gone home a day earlier and put an identical balloon into the tree in his back garden to make him feel better.

The lad had believed it was real for about 20 years.

The biggest coincidence I have seen with my own eyes is that Uri Geller stopped my mum and dad's clock. It was one that had visual spinny bits so you could see it working. He was on telly, said he would stop it, and F***ing did! I tapped it, it started spinning again, and didn't stop for months!

Still drunk?

I’ve told this story before on here also about a helium balloon,
I was working in Thornaby one Sunday morning and saw a yellow balloon with a tag on, I went over to it and there was a note saying if you find this balloon contact Johnny Smith aged 8 at this address in Blackpool, as I had a daughter about the same age I thought it would be a good idea for her to write a little note to this kid as she had worked out how far his balloon had travelled from Blackpool, it was a children in need balloon so thought it might be something to do with charity, she received a letter back with £5 in it and a note saying thank you for letting me know how far the ballloon travelled, could you ask one of your parents to call this number, a Blackpool landline number.
My missus phoned the number and a woman answered, she said she was curious as to where the balloon was actually found, my missus told her the exact place in Thornaby the balloon was found, and my missus thought that the woman from Blackpool had hung up on her, she said her father, the child’s grandfather had died and the kids had let balloons go on the memorial of her dads death, she said her dad lived in Thornaby on the exact road that the balloon was found.

I went to university in Nottingham and the lad in the next room to me (from Southampton) had his best mate visit for a weekend on the lash. He went to uni in London and it turned out he lived in the next room to my best mate from home (Boro). Blew our minds at the time and we all thought it was some sort of wind up.
