Spurs selling Kane!!

Ir’s a big call isn’t it.
I’m sure he’d much prefer City, United, Liverpool or Boro and he knows Levy won’t sell him to those clubs - esp Boro.
So, he could stay and make his own choice when his contract runs down.
The big risk is if Chuba stays with us, Kane won’t want to be a benchwarmer.

Good point about how Spurs fans would react……… to getting an extra season form a great player 😊

I’ve seen this a lot but it’s not true as as the options will be the same as the other clubs already have spots taken or he won’t fit the team pattern.

He’s not free either as his wages will be immense.
Sorry mate but I think you are completely wrong here. Its a given that players in demand who out of contract are in a far stronger position than they are whilst they are under contract. Harry Kane on a free transfer can pick and choose where ever he wants to go.

He is a pure footballer and his style of football will fit far more teams than it doesn't. Ultimately, there are'nt many clubs would turn down Harry Kane on a free transfer.

Not exactly rushing to sign him now are they.

He can’t to a London club esp for free as he’ll be sol mark 2, city don’t want him nor do Man U or Liverpool. Real are getting mbappe so it’s pretty limited options. At the elite level.

But I guess we’ll see

Btw I’m amazed the geordie blood money haven’t gone for him.

Newcastle still have to be a bit careful with FFP and probably think they can invest better elsewhere. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Newcastle get him on a free next year on mega bucks.

I've just re-read my post. Sorry if I was a little blunt. I didnt mean it to be that way.

My understanding is that Levy wont sell him to another premiership club which is why Liverpool and particularly Man Utd do not want him. I remember Man City showed a lot of interest in him a year or so back? If that was the case, surely they would take him fee free. I just can't imagine anyone saying we dont want Harry Kane on a free transfer if he makes it known he wants to go there. Even Bayern, surely he would get enhanced terms there if they can have him without paying the £95m transfer fee

I hope he fooks Bayern off just to really stick it to levy after he got shafted over the Man City move a couple of years ago

I can’t see why he’d go there. If he wants to try and come 4th in the PL why leave Spurs?

Also Spurs weren’t contenders for the top 4 last season and I doubt they will be this season.

With their money Newcastle will achieve far more than Spurs for the foreseeable future.

You keep talking about "free" and whilst you;re right in that there's no transfer fee, the reason that plpayers run their contracts down is so that they can have it paid in wages instead - so Kane is far from free if he leaves in a years time, he'd be on HUGE wages just there'd be no up front fee to pay to Spurs.

Yes but the additional wages wouldn't amount to anywhere near £100m. If he signed a 3 year contract £100m would be £640k per week. He won't be getting that.

He may get £250k/week, but that would be nowhere near the £100m upfront fee.

Also if he goes on a free he is less likely to get a long contract. More likely be looking at 1 and 2 year contracts rather than 3 or 4 year.

Who knows. There's a lot of assumptions in that post - the fact remains that "free" doesn't actually mean free when it comes to these scenarios.

I can see why we all assume this. But I still think Newcastle are miles off challenging City. I see Arsenal, Liverpool and probably Man Utd finishing above them this season too. So my point being why join a club who are really just going to be vying for European spots (whichever of the 3 competitions) when you could win a league and have a good stab at the CL.

Appreciate Newcastle would pay more, but he can always go to Saudi Arabia in 3 years time to stave off any financial hardships he encounters 😁

Madness if he doesn't go...what would you rather be at the end of your career?

Multiple trophy winner with Bayern or the answer to a quiz question...
I think doors will certainly open for him if he's a free agent in a years time, inluding in the EPL.

If I were him that's what I'd do, but I'm sure Spurs would not be happy to lose him for nothing.
