Steelworks Memories/Heritage - interviews

Teesside Archives are interested in speaking with people who either worked at the Teesside Steelworks, lived in the iron and steel communities or are interested in sharing their views on the closure, demolition, regeneration and heritage of the site.

Interviews are taking place via prebooking on Saturdays (prematch) home matches at Teesside Archives, Dorman Museum. I'm carrying out some of the interviews, whilst others will be carried out outside these times. Interviews will be added to the collections of the Archives to help tell the story of the site, local area and responses to closure etc.

We have had lots of interest already and have carried out interviews with people from Redcar Blast Furnace, South Bank Coke Ovens and have also had some great material donated.

Do get in touch if you're interested in taking part at info@heritageunlocked.com.

I delivered a pallet to the Beam Mill workshops a few weeks ago. The security fella said 'have you been here before' I said oh yes 1979 just before the strike and never came back. Would love to have a look around the old Rod Mill though.
