I agree that Diego is a passionate fan but you have to hand it to @Quicksilvera he's just owned him with the 'baby' craic. It did make me laugh.
Owned?
Jesus how old are we?

Absolute rubbish.Middlesbrough have ZERO chance of ever attracting a billionaire owner. None. We have no marketing value or 'status' outside of Teesside for starters, and we will never have a high enough profile to have any PR value to some dodgy regime.
I just thought it would be interesting to compare our pricing to other clubs over the years, particularly during that period when we were in the Premier League, and Gibson generally got things right in regards to decision making. Not sure I buy that excuse for this coming seasons prices, the prices would have gone up significantly in 19/20 and 20/21 that's when the money we committed to FFP was at it's highest while our income was at its lowest as parachute payments plumetted. We got through this by signing players like Bola and Morrison and installing a cheap rookie manager

We’ve been given that impression for the last few summers and we’re still waiting. Akpom millions not reinvested. Spence millions not reinvested. Tav millions not reinvested. SG supporters will counter with covid/increase in running costs. Conveniently forgetting that this cuts both ways. Fans have had to endure the financial uncertainty of covid. Had to pay more for their utilities. The club passing this onto the fans in the manner they have is nothing short of a scandal.

If that was really the case then about only about 10 teams in english football would have ever been taken over.Exactly this.
I'm surprised people don't realise this by now. Billionaires don't buy football clubs to make money, increasingly these days they buy them as part of their overall 'portfolio' - a status symbol - and in the case of nation states for PR purposes to sportswash their way into acceptance by the western mainstream.

We've been extremely lucky to have Gibson be custodian of our club for 30 years now. Just look at Derby and Blackpool on how it can go t!ts up if you have charlatans take over. People need to accept that the days of signing Juninho, Rav, and Emerson are over. Even if we make it to the Premier League, we will no longer try and compete to sign the calibre of players we once had. Its about looking after the club and its regular everyday employee's who work for it, and giving Teesside a club that competes year after year at the level its at, and not allowing it to repeat 1985/86.
Sorry Scrug, can you please give me a list of words I can say?Owned?

Even you must admit that the Roy Keane video was funny.Absolutely owned me. I can’t come back from it

I'm always of the opinion, that if you can't laugh at yourself, then how can you laugh at anyone else.It is funny. But it’s aimed at me so I’m not gonna find that part of it funny.

I am the first to highlight any mistakes I make and at 62, believe me I make plenty.
He’s a Tory. That’s the reality. He publicly backed the scum party in the last election. He’s just waiting or a knighthood to go with his ridiculous oversized dolls house. I’ve never liked him. That doesn’t really matter though. My opinion is irrelevant in a world run by multimillionaires and working class boot lickers.Steve Gibson should know more than anybody Teesside is a hard working class town, money is especially tight at this moment in time and he is completely pricing the average supporter out of the game, shame on you Steve
Ferk me, I'm not saying you've made a mistake, I've said I am the first to highlight my mistakes and laugh at them.I do. But I haven’t made a mistake here have I?

Edit: You seem a little prickly this morning, everything ok?
You don't seem fine, especially allowing something like that to get to you.I’m fine. Just wasn’t expecting to read that I was ‘owned’ when looking back at the thread it doesn’t read that way to me but each to their own

Plus selling two of our main attacking threats morgan/crooks but we will just skip past that one eh!!Gibson is the least of our worries,I have never heard or seen any of our managers complain about no being backed by him.our biggest problem this year's has been our injury list and the loss of players due to tournaments
