Stoke Are No Slouches

They are flying at the minute. 4 wins in 6 in fine form. Need to be at it from the off.

The bald lad in the middle is the one we need to keep out of the game.
they are also due a loss and not the best away, and prone to leaking goals against everyone apart from those in the relegation zone, sounds ideal for us at home

Im nervous about tonight. But that isn't really a reflection on the opposition.
Im pretty much nervous for every game now that we are at the business end of the season. If I put my rational head on, we should be happy with a play off place considering where we have come from. Our performances have made me a spoilt fan though.

Imagine thinking 4 months ago that I'd be desperately nervous to beat Stoke at home to get within 1 point of an automatic promotion position!

Nervous about tonight, but excited aswell. The day is dragging, i cant wait to get down there and see Carrick's reds back on the pitch. Early goal to celebrate the 1000th goal, they'll open up and leave gaps at the back. Our forwards will have a field day if Jagielka plays, his positioning is great but if any of them are 1 on 1 then he's toast.

If you had said back in October that if we beat Stoke and Preston this week that we would likely be 2nd in the table...
Whether we are or not, the transformation has been extraordinary.
And we will keep getting better.

What’s the crowd for tomorrow we sold many? I understand it’s midweek but I think we should be looking at about 27k
Says in excess of 23k on the mfc site, a little disappointing but being on sky and having another home game on Saturday no doubts will have an impact.

Yeah 23k is disappointing, they'll bring about 400, but having the game on Sky and another home game on Saturday i think walk-up fans have to pick their games wisely

Tbf the club often gets it wrong- I remember a couple of seasons ago there was apparently only 18,000 sold for the opening game of the season it said on the website then the actual attendance was 22,000. I think they’ll a few more than 23k there tonight imo

Wouldn't hurt to have had a 2 for £50 or something offer for tonight and Saturdays game, a little push to convince people to attend both games. I know ticket offers are a big talking point on here and we can't do too much as we can't upset ST holders, but surely 1 a season is ok and tonight/Saturday seemed perfect

This is only our second midweek league match at the Riverside all season, excluding Boxing Day, which is unusual.

We not going the old, lull them in first half, with a daft goal, then batter them senseless second half are we??
I hope not. At the weekend I was in Bath watching the rugby down the pub with my brother in law.

One of his frieds showed me the boro score when we were 1 nil down. I shrugged and said, "we'll go on and win 3-1" He did ask me why I hadn't put a bet on it.

Won't be easy tonight, but even though it is Alex Neil in charge, even though they are on a little run of form, you can't do anything but fancy Boro to win.

Last 6 home games we've scored 18, conceded 2. 3-1 is our default scoreline of late, so I'll go for that as I think they will make a game of it and score.
