Too long out of the game, and not really a team person. I'm sure he's got great knowledge to pass on but I feel he would just do his own thing in his own way, contradicting other coaches, falling out with them and not pull towards the ultimate aims of the club.
 
Linked with Onien now , not against that at all , decent utility player and replacement for McNair if a bid comes in.
 
Just checking the Mackems twitter account - whilst the tea brews - a number of fans are saddest about Grant leaving and suggest he returns as "coach".

Would be a decent and cheap squad player, I mean he's got 270+ games under his belt and still to reach his prime. It'd be a step up after 3 years in League Two and 3 years in League One, but I'm sure he would be an ok utility player and might allow us to invest a bit more elsewhere since he can cover a couple of roles cheaply.

Would love that. Not always a fan of bringing ex players for the sake of it but Grant is always one where I think he needs to remain in football and will have plenty to offer. He maybe a mackem but he certianly caught the boro bug
 
Luke O’Nien is a jack of all trades and master of none. Sure he will get a club in this league though as he will fill in anywhere.
