I went to see The Lion King at the Sunderland Empire Theatre yesterday.

Great show, terrible city and people.

Went to a gig at the Fire Station which is near the Empire. There's plenty of decent bars within a couple of minutes walk and the venue itself is great.

I throughly enjoyed myself. Just saying.

Went to see it last Wednesday. Costumes were great, acting and singing not so much. Was quite impressed with a few bars close to the theatre. Had a drink in the fire station. Still an awful city with awful people.
Interestingly, we were playing the popular drinking game, drink while you think. My youngest gave me the letter C knowing the only person I would come up with would be Cameron Archer (she had already used Chuba Akpom). We had to stop the game as the only way it could continue was if I sang his little song. Shame.

Feels more like a town than a city Sunderland, Middlesbrough feels more like a city imo

It’s an awful place and really doesn’t deserve city status. In comparison, Newcastle is one of my favourite cities.
