Sycamore Gap - Hadrian’s Wall - felled 😡🤬

Is that a serious question?
Yes.

Cuttings benefit from.. is it bio grow? Those little round brown jars.. fertiliser.. some sort of growth hormone.

Whack a load of that on.. do a bit of splicing.. splinting.. supporting.. give it a good old water.

It sounds mad and would be difficult.. but plants get picked and cut and then grow again.

Serious Question.

I’m guessing the effort would be too vastly normally to justify if. Getting top tree surgeons in and scientists.. and the plant.. like cranes and stuff.

If it sounds ridiculous.. maybe.. but not as much as an arm or a leg being sewn back on.. surely a tree is less complicated.

I think certain trees can grow back from a stump, some will not.

I don't think there is any way to reattach the fallen section of a felled tree.

They can't put the tree back together... if they'd only half cut through then yes saveable but not when it's felled completely.

The good news, if there is any, if they were to replant a Scyamore they are very fast growing.

2 feet a year, would take 35 years to get back to the size of the felled tree

Branches can be wrapped and they will fuse and grow again.. lots of stuff on Google regarding trees that have snapped in half being bolted back together.

Says it can take two years and there’s no guarantee that the fix will take.. things can go wrong or the parts of the tree can just dry up and die.

Expensive, specialist and very time dependent.

I don’t suppose many people give a flip if a tree gets cut down or damaged in a storm.

I defo had a Xmas tree that started growing roots!!

This is obviously a ridiculous thing to have done and whoever has done needs to be dealt with but when I look on social media in general this act of vandalism seems to have caused more of a furore than a 15 year old girl being executed on the streets of London. The mind boggles at times.

How can the truth be unnecessary?

I would imagine if it was your child you would think differently.

What's wrong with you? I'm sure there has been different threads on this forum (which is a form of social media) about that poor girl or you could even create one to discuss it if you wished. This is a completely separate topic and it's actually quite disgusting in my opinion that you've use the girl who was murdered as vehicle to try and make some bizarre point that only you understand.

Laurence Fox used exactly the same comparison to try and minimise his own misogynistic actions so you're in good company.

the two things are not mutually exclusive, you can be angered/sickened/disgusted/whatever to both. The girl being killed doesn't make this somehow okay and the reverse is also true. Its a ridiculous thing to throw in to try and say simply because people are outraged (rightly) at a tree they have little to no feelings on the senseless killing of a young girl. Troll gonna troll.
