Team for Millwall

I think it's nailed on to be.... Dieng... McNair Fry Lenihan Coulson... Hackney Barlasar

I'm struggling with the front four. I don't think he'll play McGree at LB because he's needed in behind the striker.
It also doesn't do much for Coulson's confidence if he picks a midfielder over him in his natural position, and we have no other LBs in the squad.
Even if Coulson has a bad game, I think that'll be a mistake because if we can't find a LB, McGree will be stuck there which makes us weaker up the pitch.

Yeah that was the team against Auxerre.

Just depends if he likes what he say with McGree at LB and if he thinks he can play there at championship level.

He will have to start with Coulson I’d imagine, and if it’s not working he knows he can change to McGree and get Silvera on.

I’d probably stick with Rogers even though it hasn’t been the best viewing so far. I think that tap in at the end could have done him the world of good. We will see.

I see Rogers as a confidence player. If he gets a goal or two in the first few weeks he'll score more. If he doesn't, he might struggle.

I agree. As I say I think that tap in is bigger than it looks. Could come out bang at it on Saturday. If you take him away from the position right now I’m not sure that’s the right thing to having trusted him to play there so far.
 
Think short term until we buy a left back, we will play 3 at back with mcgree and jones as wingbacks. Mcnair, fry, darragh as the 3.

Nor should he, smacks of panic otherwise in my opinion.

Unless I'm mistaken we've played exactly the same system for every single minute of Carrick's time in charge. Depth of the number has been altered a couple of times (effectively creating a midfield three) but changing a 4 to 3 at the back would take hours on the training pitch.
 
McGree would be wasted at LB.
He has to be in the 3 behind the CF given our current squad.

What a state to be in without a LB who can kick a ball.

Agree with the back 7 being nailed.

I think McGree and Forss are both locked in, leaving 2 other spots up for grabs.

I think Forss' best position is RW, but he's also our only available striker who knows this division well enough...so there lies the conundrum.

If he goes Forss RW, then that leaves Jones out and means Crooks and Rogers play #10 & #9, respectively. With McGree at LW. Unless he goes McGree as #10 and Silvera as LW.

If he goes Forss #9, then I think Jones gets the nod at RW. Then we either go McGree as #10 and Silvera as LW, or Crooks as #10 and McGree as LW.

Personally, I'd prefer us to go with Forss as #9, McGree as #10 and Jones/Silvera as the wingers.

But I'd like to see us go with:

It really is a hotch potch of a selection available to Carrick. You can be certain of the keeper Paddy, Lenihan, Fry and as he is the only fit left back Coulson.
Barsalar Hackney and McGree obvious starters as is Forsse. After that it really is guesswork. Crooks just for his experience and bite? I will be very surprised if Carrick starts with Jones given his position on him rarely starting for him last year but Carrick may have Hobsons choice. Would like to see Silvera get a shot with maybe Rogers up top?
Can’t remember starting a season so short of real quality but my 11 would be;

Not for me and Carrick very much didn’t see him as a starter last season but as I said it could be Hobsons choice on Saturday. Many would see Jones as a definite starter but that’s the beauty of football - everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
 
Jones only starts if Forss plays up top. As it stands I'll be surprised if that's the case, don't think he's played CF all pre season?

Silvera or Crooks is the only decision to make I think.
