I got new internet. Three 5g hub thingy. The thing is I can't get my echo devices to connect. Yesterday I splt the bands into separate 2.4ghz and 5ghz, so I could try connecting to 2.4ghz. No joy. They were working fine with my old internet. Just wondering if anyone has had similar problems. Cheers.
 
I'm not sure how echo devices work but I do know devices 'remember' the wireless network name (SSID) they are connecting to - is that the same with the new device - did you replicate it? Do you get an option with the echo devices to reset them and start a new connection and choose the wireless network you want them to connect to?

As I said I don't know echo devices as I have SONOS and Google Mini /Hub but they definitely had to be told the new network names on my latest Netgear Wireless Access Points and Router.
 
Thanks guys. I'm gonna try with my old Internet first. It doesn't run out until 8th May but had been off for three weeks. They only sorted it today. I deregistered the devices. So I'm gonna regester again and see how it goes from there.
 
New Internet would be fine because even off Wi-Fi you connect to Alexa ecosystem via your phone on 3G/4g/5g likewise even on remote Wi-Fi, so the app will know your devices and show them offline - you just need to update the settings for them each that way, it will walk you through how to put them in setup mode using button presses and depending on the age of Alexa device you either putbwifi details in the app or connect to a temp network that the Alexa will broadcast, but the app will walk you through it.

It's deffo my new Internet. Connected to old one straight away. I've got 3 phones an android box and laptop connected no problem. Now get this. While my old Internet was down I bought a nvidia shield. Could not get it to connect. Either wired or WiFi. Just tried it with the old Internet and it set up. Oh dear.
