Outside Liverpool women’s hospital. At 1100. One person killed, many more injured.

Three arrested.

If they targeted a women's hospital it's hard to think of a target more shameful. What next, a kid's playground? The sad thing is, this is exactly what they seem to be aiming for, in order to stoke as much ire as possible.

Three arrested. Sounds like the person who died was the bomber. From what I've heard the taxi driver saw a suicide vest on a passenger and locked him in car. Not seen any other verification on that yet, but the guys a hero if true. Horrific to think what would have resulted if he made it I to hospital.
If the only death was the person attempting mass murder then I'm pleased

One injured.

Would’ve certainly been a lot more if the terrorist was able to reach their intended targets

Allegedly the taxi driver locked the terrorist in the car after realising what was happening, according to the taxi drivers colleague on a Facebook post.

Lets not speculate or exagerate: lets stick with the facts - which Merseyside Police are providing.

Who’s exaggerating?

Well, it’s certainly a fact his colleague posted that on Facebook, no reason why they should lie about what happened. I mean, an explosion did take place, that’s there for all to see.

And given the fact the taxi was going to a specific location which was a building with a lot of people, it’s not any exaggeration to suggest more people would’ve been injured had they got in the building as intended.

i’d say there’s a pretty high chance the supposed story is accurate

Stick to flooding the forum with pictures nobody cares about

Th terrorist took a taxi while wearing a suicide vest, to where he wanted to blow himself up? Seriously?

The car was in flames but damage to the surrounding area,.such as nearby cars, seems minimal. Weird. Must have been a small explosive?

That's what I heard, although I suspect its all from the same source as above. Ie Facebook posts. Ill just delete my post as I'm not going to get into a situation where I'm having to defend unsubstantiated rumours on here.

Just because it blew up near the hospital doesn't mean that's where he was going. It only means that is where the driver stopped the taxi.
Where it stopped is 500m from Liverpool Cathedral which at 1100 in the morning would be just about to start the Remembrance Day service.

Merseyside police.

Reported from the Chief Constable:

"So far we understand that the car involved was a taxi which pulled up at the hospital shortly before the explosion occurred.

"Work is still going on to establish what has happened, and could take some time before we are in a position to confirm anything.

"We are keeping an open mind as to what caused the explosion but given how it has happened, out of caution, Counter Terrorism Police are leading the investigation supported by Merseyside Police.

In other words: we dont know what caused the explosion.["open mind"?]
The armed squad [ATU] were called because its the emergency response protocol.
Three adults arrested.
