That’s it then the Republican Party is dead

Not necessarily. There are plenty in the GOP who are desperate to get rid of Trump, but are too scared or too focused on their own careers to stand up to him.
Rubio, Cruz et al, even Hageman who beat Chaney was anti Trump until he won the nomination in 2016.
If Trump goes down then they'll all suddenly find their balls again.
I'd actually like Chaney to run for President as she'd basically have free reign to attack Trump, DeSantis or anyone else who ran for the nomination and she'd run rings round them.

Hopefully they'll splinter off into a traditional 'normal' Republican party and all the more fringe nut job tea party, Q anon, replacement theory, crisis actor, Trump fanatic, JFK junior is alive sect can form their own MAGA alliance and half the right wing vote in a fair few states giving the Democrats a boost.

There are more than a few ex-Republican voters leaving the party (or saying they will sit on their hands) over what it has become. Ironically this means that Trump endorsed nutjobs become more not less likely to win primaries.

At least from here I can't see how they could hope to win in 24?

Cruz ? I think he’s the sycophant in chief now.
He is, but they are all on record as being anti-Trump.
Yesterday was the 6 year anniversary of Trump announcing that he was going to stiffen punishment for mishandling top secret documents. Odd how he's now gone 180 degrees on that idea 😁
Video killed the reality star?

To be fair hasn't DeSantis just launched a scheme in Florida to train ex forces veterans to become teachers with subsidised course fees?
Could never see Trump doing anything like that.

De Santis' scheme is to allow veterans to become teachers without a degree and then start working towards qualifications. In other words, teachers without a degree.

Expect same to be in Liz Truss's dressng up box soon.

Is that such a bad thing if their is a teacher shortage over there? I don't know. But helping veterans with careers after they've served their country doesn't seem to bad to me.

So you'd be ok with your child being taught by an ex-squaddie with two CSEs?

Aye. Why not let them be doctors or barristers as well.

Thats a hell of disservice to those in the forces. A friend of mine joined the navy at 17 years old with barely any qualifications and came out with two degrees and job offers from multinational companies before he'd even unpacked his bags.

So he got qualifications first then?

I don't elevate the forces above anyone else though for some reason many of them think they are entitled to it.

What would military veterans be experienced in handling and what is constantly in the American news cycle?

I'll give you a clue, it rhymes with 'fool tootings'.

It is widely reported that teachers are leaving the profession as it is underpaid, under resourced and over-regulated.

Further RWNJs are taking over school boards in Republican districts and waging a culture war on children, teachers & schools, exacerbating teacher flight from extreme America to more moderate America.

Fast tracking military into schools, by a RWNJ Governor in an important swing state in Presidential elections, is a political move.

Nothing more nothing less.

Er whut???
Armed teachers as a solution to school shootings. Just remember that 29 GOP reps flipped their votes a few weeks back to stop the PACT act that was to help veterans just because Biden got his climate bill through. 100% political strategy at play here

Oh I see. Actually it makes sense now. If you're going to arm teachers then what better than for them to be ex-soldiers. Sorted :D
