I love the b52s. Seen them three times. The second was my favourite gig anywhere by anyone doing anything. Never seen a London crowd go so apeshit before.

Preston North end once had a fanzine named 53 miles west of Venus. Their player manager scored in some important game and when asked how he felt said "53 miles west of Venus". Reminds me of something that I can't quite place...

Got the debut album and saw them at Coatham Bowl in 1979. Great gig and good times.
Brilliant band,
Roam is one of those songs that I'd heard loads of times over the years and then one day, a few years ago, it hit me in a different way.
The vocals, particulary the 2nd verse are outstanding.
The vocal intro, the guitar riff and it's sound, the clap beat, love it.

The debut album was class, my uncle used to have it blasting on a Sunday morning in 79, brings back memories

Meet the flintstones has been on BBC4 Friday night too if the pops the last couple of weeks… changed their name to BC52s for it.

They used to play 52 Girls, Rock Lobster and Planet Clair on the Rock Garden turntable. Well before Roam and Love Shack were out.
