The Boro - Owls prediction thread

Given the problems behind the Owls’ scenes, and the popularity of Warnock, I’d say our players are more likely to want to go out and play in the snow than theirs.

I am not so sure about that. The man in charge for Sheffield Wednesday tonight is none other than Neil Thompson. I suspect he will be keen on leading Wednesday tonight. He was Warnocks trusted no nonsense left back at Scarborough in their promotion days. If the game goes ahead, then I expect he will be desperate to get one over his former boss.

Oh he might. But not sure all his players will.

I’m confident anyway.

This has typical Boro written all over it, we love to give teams a bounce. I think in days gone by I would usually expect a 1-0 loss with Reach/Rhodes to get the goal but with Warnocks influence I reckon 2-1 win and Reach to score past us still.

Reach injured his hamstring on boxing day, so I am hoping this game has come too soon for him. I hope for a comfortable nights viewing, Ijust am a little concerned that Thompson will have his players wound up for this, what with Warnock being his old boss and a Sheff Utd supporter to boot. Fingers crossed we are at the top of our game.

Absolutely certain we will find a way to loose this
Seriously to loose this we would have to fail to score, first up. The we would have to give them a goal. Their scoring record is abysmal with just 12 goals in 21 games. Only Derby have a worse record and they have played a game less. They cannot score. They do have the best defensive record in the bottom half of the league, but still concede.

Relax fella's it's an easy 3 points.

@Laughing as much as I loved your post and totally rational logic.

If we lose its now 100% your fault and nothing to do with what happens on the pitch. 😂

Can’t see them calling it off for snow, they normally only do that for fan safety but there’s no fans so surely they will just clear the pitch. It’s a premier league ground so will have some way of clearing the snow.

Anything less than a win tonight would be a massive failure, they are a club in turmoil and we’ve had a extra week of rest. We have to get at them fast from the kickoff, if we score early we could batter them. I think we will win, it’s just by how much.

0-2

I am not quite so bullish as some of you on here. Wednesday do not concede many, nor score many tbf, so a tight game will develop. The lads should be rested from past exertions, the sacking of Pulis may allow them to play more freely.

I know it is an old adage, but the first goal is key. If we can get it, I think we will go on to ease to victory. We need to stay compact and solid for the first 45 minutes playing a reasonable tempo, but we rarely do anything the easy way, so I will give a tentative thumbs up for a 1-2 away win and yet another nervy finish to a game.
