Just finished series 1 on iplayer. Well worth watching. The Swedish detective Saga is absolutely brilliant. I burst out laughing a few times at the things she came out with.

Also the Valhalla Murders (Icelandic crime drama) is very good.

Watched all The Bridge series twice now - very good.

Currently working my way through Spiral which several people recommended. On series 4, don't think I'll be bothering with the rest............

Yeah watched the first couple of Spirals and hated them.

Interesting story how Sofia got her facial scarring. It occurred in a cycling accident, so it must have been a nasty one.

The Valhalla Murders was pretty good. I went off Spiral after starting series 2.

I quite like watching stuff with subtitles as well. It makes me give the programme full attention rather than half watching while I browse the web or read message boards.
Me too, but probably because I'm deaf 😂 ... or so Mrs "The Barbarian" says.Too many metal gigs I think.

Actually it's more to do with the appalling mumbling dialogue in most programmes . I put the subtitles on English language (mainly American) programmes some times.

..... now where did I put that zimmer

Absolutely brilliant series.

Also, a shout out for Spiral which has all 8 seasons currently available on iPlayer. It is exceptional., and my favourite out of them all. Must be watch in order though!
I must be watching a different Spiral :)

4 series in and its not gripped me yet. Storylines are weak and the characters have no appeal.

I'm almost watching it out of a bloody belligerence to work my way through it in the hope it gets better.

Tend to feel the same. I didnt find it gripping and holding my attention as much as the Bridge but maybe I just don’t like French dramas. Much prefer the Scandi stuff.

Watched the first couple of series of The Bridge still have others to watch. Probably my favourite subtitled show apart from La Casa De Papal(Money Heist) which is also superb. If it was a novel it would be called a page turner. Deffo one to binge.

Love the Bridge and Spiral.

Shout out for Borden too (I believe it's on Netflix now?) Political rather than criminal but very very good

I binged The Bridge in December and liked it a lot (even if the twists did get a little more far fetched with every series).

I haven't watched any other Nordic noir yet, but my sister is a connoisseur of the genre and she's recommended another show (available on Channel 4's catchup service) called Greyzone. I'll get to it soon.

There's also Forbrydelsen, the original Danish version of The Killing, which was made into a US series starring Mireille Enos.

I actually found both very watchable.

I love the Bridge, my favourite of the all the Scando stuff. Also watched the Tunnel which is the Brit/French remake and which was Ok (I think there's also a US version but haven't seen that). Agree, the original Killing was really good too. The Disappearance (French) is worth a watch. Trapped, an Icelandic series is also worth a watch. I've been recommended Deadwind, which is next on my subtitle list

Was never a fan of the Tunnel. Not a patch on the Original.

Think the second series of the Bridge had greatest effect on me as to how it finished. But all 4 seasons were fantastic.
